Odd. I thought sony just hit the 70 milion ps3 sold yet they have it at 68,313,471.

Seems like VGChartzzz is delaying the PS3 result for some reason... or they just trust their own "calculations" above official numbers?

VGC estimates consoles in consumer hands.
Sony reported 70 million shipped.

So there are 1.68 million PS3s in stores / warehouses all over the world. That is a reasonable number considering we are entering the craziest time of the year. There is a chance that there will be close to 1 million PS3s sold in one week this time next month. So 1.7 million consoles in stores all over the world is not that much, when you think about it.

For example MS reported more than 70 million consoles shipped end of september. 6 weeks later VGC has it at
70 million.

I could guarantee that the PS3 is selling, at least where I'm at. super slim sold out, 320 gb charcoal black sold out... only stocks left are 160 giggers and scarlet red versions.
