Trollin’ Gone Wild

The escalation of vitriol and growing lack of civility in gaming communities is sickening, need I say more? It doesn’t take a degree from Columbia University to know that in any randomly herded group of people there will always be a Negative – Nelson or two. Be they malicious, morose/pessimistic, surly, condescending, what-have-you, they are to be found, and dealing with them is simply a part of living. In gaming communities, we often refer to these personalities as “trolls” or “trollers.” They either spew their hate during online co-op matches and waiting areas, or they expound their murky manifestos through the use of internet forums. Sometimes they amuse, often times they annoy, and no amount of logic based counterpointing will deter them from their ways
