GamesBeat talks with Red Barrels co-founder David Chateauneuf about Outlast, an upcoming survival-horror game that draws inspiration from, of all places, Mirror's Edge.
Footage from what appears to be a prototype build of Red Barrels' first-person psychological survival horror game, Outlast, has emerged.
This sounds interesting. Red Barrels is teaming up with Lionsgate and renown horror producer Roy Lee to develop a feature film anchored in the rich and horrifying universe of the Outlast series.

Very safe list of horror games. I would argue that Amnesia Machine for Pig was not that great. Dark Descent was much a much better game.
Far better games have been released in this genre (Dead Space Remake, Alien Isolation, Alan Wake 2 etc).
I could always use more games like Mirror's Edge.
If only DICE took inspiration from Mirror's Edge...
If Dice was smart, they would wait for the next gen. Then release Mirrors Edge II. At the beginning of the console cycle, there are never enough good games. That might give them enough focus, and attention to sell enough games that the franchise deserves, and it might rope in fans that otherwise would not try it because it was not a COD or Halo title.
As for this game Outlast. If they keep up this kind of quality, and attention to creepy-ness then it is going to be awesome. Lets keep out fingers crossed, and keep an eye on this one.
