The most important figure of them all and it's looking good for the 3DS, PS3 and 360 respectively.

LiquidSword934183d ago

Its wierd with PS3 sales versus 360. The 360 has more collectively but loses out in sales increase per annum, week and month. Cant tell which console is more successful right now...

GribbleGrunger4183d ago (Edited 4183d ago )

Well, it's not that difficult actually. The 360 tends to sell better in November - December, while the PS3 tends to sell better for the rest of the year. So the 360 gathers a 500,000 to 800,000 lead over Christmas and the PS3 pulls that lead back by 1 million to 1.5 million for the rest of the year.

OooHJohnny4183d ago

Is it that hard to admit that the PS3 is dominating.

H4all4183d ago

wooooaahhhh two great console in the chart... really great...

johnny5554183d ago

I have to give kudos to M$.... they have done everything possible to keep that lead ahead of $ony..... They spent so much money marketing Kinect and the last 2 summers, they give away a X360 for free for every PC purchase..... then of course that does not get mention when they release sales numbers.

GribbleGrunger4183d ago (Edited 4183d ago )

You give Kudos to Microsoft for keeping the lead but not Sony for reducing the lead? Microsoft's lead currently stands at 1.6 million and at one point it was 8 million, even though as you say, they give 360s away with PC purchases. Even someone with a neutral perspective on sales would know which company deserves kudos here. Just to give this context: if the PS3 had released alongside the 360, they would be currently 4 million ahead... and if they could have afforded to release at the same price, who knows what that lead would have been.

Microsoft have done an extraordinary job of sustaining sales, that's for sure, but considering the price of the PS3, releasing a year later (16 months in Europe) and the less than helpful press, I'd say what Sony have achieved is miraculous.

CommonSenseGamer4183d ago (Edited 4183d ago )

Take a step further back and then compare how MS and Sony have done between this gen and previous gen before you start referring to anything as miraculous.

johnny5554183d ago

You may not have realized but I was just saying how M$ had to give consoles away and spend more on marketing than on development of kinect.....

At the end of the day, Sony has done more than anyone this gen.... and their focus has been us gamer and not who's leading sales.....

And it shows with how many awesome games and exclusives we have seen on the PS3.

EmperorDalek4183d ago

Sony was giving away PS3s with Bravia TVs as well over the past couple of years.

CommonSenseGamer4183d ago

Solid start for ACL for Vita but what happened to NFS on Vita which seemed to review as the better game?

Godchild10204183d ago

Need for speed doesn't have as much pull as it once did. Assassin's Creed does.

Non-playable characters in certain games are meme material, thanks to their foolish behavior. These are the big-budget games with the dumbest NPCs.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK270d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder269d ago (Edited 269d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer269d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle544d ago (Edited 544d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
