James O'Connor of MMGN: Need for Speed: Most Wanted is beautiful. It’s fast, it’s well designed, and it’s got all the crunching metal and screeching tires I love in games like this. It’s probably the best racer of the year so far, in fact. But it’s not Burnout 3: Part 2, and really, all I’ve ever wanted is Burnout 3: Part 2. Why do I want a rehash of a 2004 game when there are so many awesome new racing games to enjoy?
Licensing issues often leave many games forgotten. But all that aside, here are 10 classic games desperate for remasters.
The getaway
Smugglers run
Dead to rights
Worlds scariest police chases
Sure I’m missing a few.
Ape Escape.
Fun game but, wow, you need a college degree to understand the controls.
A remaster would also save you from having to constantly fight the camera.
Keep the music though. Those drum and bass tracks fit really well and haven't aged. Made me think that more games could work well with drum and bass tracks, but unfortunately it's a somewhat niche genre now.
Xenogears, Xenosaga trilogy, Vagrant Story, Drakengards, Parasite Eve and many more but I’ll start with those
A replica of Most Wanted’s famed M3 GTR is on display at the BMW Welt exhibition until 6th January.
The YouTuber NostalgiaNexus is working on a Need for Speed: Most Wanted remake in Unreal Engine 5, featuring improved textures and police AI.
Wish Ea would connect with Nostalgia nexus create Fan loved Mostwanted instead of online multi-player crap been out since 2012
Because we wants it. We wants the Precious...
I want traffic attack back please.
As much as I love Burnout Paradise, I would certainly not say no to Criterion returning to its Burnout roots.
Need for Speed Most Wanted is a nice game, but not great. It feels like it wants to be Burnout Paradise 2, but is not as good as that classic; and I think the cop chases were more fun in the original Most Wanted (It's a damn shame that game never came to PS3).
I really miss the exhilarating circuit racing from the early Burnout games. What I'd really love is a mashup of Burnout 2, Takedown and Revenge - and the ability for the player to tailor which options to turn on and off (traffic checking for example,or setting traffic density).
I want crash mode!
Also does Criterion just hate allowing car customization? I have to drive through a repair shop to change color? That is just bad.
Also a return to the Euro style music of the first 2 games please, none of that US crap thx.
