It’s no secret that the video game industry is built upon franchises, and thus, sequels. Every year we see boatloads of new games released, yet it’s far more likely we’ll see sequels to tried-and-true franchises than brand new IPs. It’s the unfortunate rut our industry is stuck in at the moment. However, there are a few sequels that we’d actually welcome with open arms. We might be burnt out on yearly Call of Dutys, but the below titles represent game worlds we’re dying to reenter.
Former Visceral Games devs reveal Dead Space's marketing budget was cut in favor of Mirror's Edge because of mock review scores.
I wish EA would just release a DS2 remake. DS is my favorite horror game and DS2 is the best one in the franchise. But because DS1 failed to meet certain numbers EA scrapped the DS2 remake. SH2 remake was great rumors are Konami might be asking for another SH remake. The RE2 remake was great EA just needs to give it another try. But all they seem to do is shitty sports games that are no different from the year before. Change a few players, add different uniform colours, maybe change a team logo. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I bought Dead Space during launch window and I never bought a Mirror's Edge game .
Back in 2011, Epic Games and People Can Fly launched a Call of Duty parody - Duty Calls - that has been lost to the annals of history.
"Duty Calls: The Calm Before the Storm" sounds more like a massive case of the sh**s. 😂
I saw the parody mention, and half expected the ability to drop a deuce on your opponent... I left disappointed.
Hahaha i actually just dropped a review of this game on my channel! I hit all the story beats for anybody too lazy to install it and play through it

Bulletstorm will soon receive a VR remake, but is it worth revisiting? Take a look back at the original 2011 release.
Absolutely. I remember when the game came out on ps360, I thought: "wow, another shooter" and in the 7th gen that wasn't an unfair reaction.
But when the game was re-release on ps4 I took my time an played it (it was on playstation plus at the time) because, ironically, I missed a shooter in that console. And boy, what a fun game! They made a game to be played and not to be watched. It was a fresh air in the genre that deserved better.
So yes. Maybe it find its audience this time.
I got it on PS3 at launch and am still waiting for the long rumored sequel to finally be announced. Currently have it on Switch and wish a physical version of that would be released. Absolutely love it.
I actually feel like this game gets revived all the time, not that I hate the game, I actually quite like it, it's just constantly available, unfortunately I'm not a fan of VR so I'll be skipping this version.
Personally I would love to see sequels to Wipeout HD, Chromehounds, SSX and Twisted Metal.
The latter two games there came out this year so there's no rush for sequels, but it would be nice to see those franchises continue since they're both so good.
Chromehounds was released in the launch window of the Xbox 360 and is easily one of the best online games I've ever played. Unfortunately From Software shut down the servers and seem to be focusing on their Armoured Core games and Souls franchise (Dark/Demons) nowadays.
Personally I would love to see sequel to
Prince of Persia 08
Mirrors edge
Jak and daxter
Beyond good and evil (cant wait for some actual info)
Sonic adventure 3
Jet Set Radio Future 2 - or whatever they want to call it.
Release it in episodes like Sam and Max did but it must not be an Xbox exclusive this time as they just don't buy enough copies of it. An Xbox360 and PS3 release is fine but it must be on PS3 because Playstation owners tend to support arty games like that.
Half-Life 3
Mirror's Edge 2
Red Dead Redemption 2
Batman: Arkham (insert location)
Battlefield 2143
Wing Commander VI
I don't want a Mirror's Edge sequel anymore 'cos there is a %99,9 chance that EA would screw with the game, as they are doing with most sequels lately.
