If only Steve Jobs(RIP) was alive... he will be the emperor by now...who is next Sony? Nintendo?

Who has control of the Star Wars action figures now? Disney?

@ BitbyDeath
They just make the licensed action figures. Either Lucas or Disney owns the IP. I don't know what the Disney deal included... I know movies, but does it include merch? 4 billions doesn't seem like very much for a 33 bullion dollar franchise. The movies have turned 8 billion in theaters and DVD, merchandise has turned much, MUCH more. (see attached pic) That's why I ask.

Pic won't attach... here's link

Hasbro has control of the action figures.

WiiUalpha4339d ago

The Deal with Disney gives them all rights to every IP Lucas owned and that includes the merchandising rights as well. Merchandising is actually one of the things they talked when discussing areas star wars could expand.

About the article though I seriously hope it is just a rumor.Disney doesnt need to own every aspect of my childhood.

in soviet russia Hasbro buys Disney

just transformers has over thousands of characters

MultiConsoleGamer4339d ago

I wondered if this would happen, although honestly I expected Disney to team with Mattel, who is their traditional toy manufacturing partner.

GraveLord4339d ago

Holy ****.
Disney already owns everything Marvel and the Star Wars franchise....now Hasbro? That would mean Transformers and My Little Pony are now Disney.

dredgewalker4339d ago

Yep they're also planning a cross over cartoon movie with the Transformers and My Little Pony. I saw a preview of the script and the story goes that Megatron can extract energon from the ponies cuteness and so the autobots try to foil his evil plans by defending them.....also there's a musical dance sequence in the film.

BitbyDeath4339d ago (Edited 4339d ago )

Disney could make their own console at this rate.

Exclusive Pokemon, Star Wars, Marvel, Magic, and of course Kingdom Hearts and everything else Disney related.

Hicken4339d ago

How would they get Pokemon?

BitbyDeath4339d ago

I thought Hasbro owned them but after looking on Wikipedia it seems they were sold in 2005. So yea... scrap the Pokemon part.

kesvalk4339d ago

no matter what disney, they better not fuck-up my little pony!
