Free to Play Games – Present and Future
Adam on TGC writes: Free to play games have been around for a while and aren't something particularly new. In 1996, a free to play game called Furcadia was released that aimed to appeal to children. It is based on the premise of animals having learned to speak and walk on two legs and allows the player to create their own character and explore an open world. Sixteen years later, Furcadia is still going strong with thousands of active online users – claiming the title of longest active free to play game.
