Time to upgrade people
Torchlight 2

XB1_PS44650d ago

Upgraded. I just bought it yesterday, and if it wasn't for borderlands 2 I'd be playing it nonstop. It's actually a really fun game.

tallkidoPL4650d ago

YES!!!
and its only 20 bucks also!!

jaggernaut254650d ago

Yeah, exactly! It's a great game!

da_2pacalypse4651d ago

Forget the fact that it's in every single way a better game, it's only 1/3 the price!

I love this thing!

The loot system isn't built around an Auction House.

Take, for example, that I'm playing a very different but still very loot driven game of Borderlands 2. It's nice to find a weapon that betters your current one. Maybe it was luck, maybe you killed a difficult boss and earned it.

You don't get that in Diablo 3. It's all randomized. Chances are, you'll need to go the auction house to get the loot you need. Kind of a let down in a game where you're suppose to go and collect loot yourself.

Torchlight 2 looks great and I will be downloading it from Steam in the future.

vortis4650d ago

What, you don't like RMAH: The Game? Bro, that's the future. Don't you know that gamers hate having fun, finding cool loot and exploring different environments and replaying the game for fat bonuses?!

Nah, instead it's all about charging up the credit card and heading to the RMAH, using the dynamic search function to find some mad items and bid ferociously with hundreds of other players for legendary gear. Oh yeah, spending money has never been so intense. Screw gameplay, RMAH: The Game is the only thing I need from an RPG.

MeatAbstract4650d ago

HA! That gave me a chuckle. Bubs for you.

baodeus4650d ago

so where do these loots that you need on auction house come from?

From player who found it or are given out by Blizzard?

jaggernaut254650d ago

These are all fantastic points, I agree 100% with what you're saying. That same mindset you explained in Borderlands 2 about constantly getting new loot, upgrading, etc. is exactly what Torchlight II is like! It's great!

D3 atm is Wallstreet: The Game

You have all these 99% players that once-in-a-while/lifetime will find loot that will give them a significant amount of money yet they probably won't ever be able to have a good chance of having the best gear set possible at any moment. Then you also have this 1% of players who have acquired so much money through auctioning that they'll always have the best gear by never searching for a single piece.

Screw you Blizzard

Enjoying the hell out of it. The best thing about it that you can play it offline or online. It's your choice to make which makes it better

rbailey4650d ago

I'm sold. I'll definitely buying Torchlight II one of these days.

If they didn't let the cellphone guy touch the 3rd one in first place, they wouldn't have to dance around like clowns trying to make money.

Xristo137d ago

We've been asking for less "boring" seasons... "boring"... not "buggy"... same ol' rehashed content just a different color is not working.

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein508d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33816d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
