Ok, I hate Madden and would never play it, but 7/10 for graphics? I'm looking at those in game shots and thinking, 'You do realise this is a handheld?' Those graphics look 9/10 for me, in fact they're close to a 9/10 for a console. Isn't it time that reviewers of Vita games gave the Vita the same treatment they give the 3DS or iOS games? These seem to be reviewed AS a 3DS game or iOS game. On the other hand, I can't help but feel that the Vita is being compared to PS3 games.

How about we start comparing the graphics to the Vitas closest rival? Like we do the 360 and the PS3. People are so keen on comparing numbers, why not anything else?

Did anyone mention a conspiracy theory? Perhaps it would serve you well if you read my first post again. I'm talking about how Vita games get compared to PS3 quality graphics and for some reason no one seems to compare them to 3DS graphics... oh, but graphics don't matter, right? Let's compare sales figures instead; I mean, that's what matters to gamers.

@Ben Grim: Let me get this right. If the Wiiu is better graphically than the 360 or the PS3, not a single site will point that out. They'll just take it for granted that it's a different gen. The 3DS is the same gen as the Vita, but for some reason it's not fair to compare graphics? How many sides of the bread do you Nintendo fans want to be buttered?

There are many games that got 7 or less for graphics and I could clearly see why, and yes I did see that it had glitches, but there is no doubt that reviewers are cutting Nintendo some major slack. Why? Do you think that Wiiu games will be compared to 360/PS3 games graphically? Will you complain that it shouldn't because it's a next gen machine? Or will you enjoy the fact that they're better and EXPECT that to be pointed out by reviewers? What if the graphics are worse? Will you complain that the Wiiu is a next gen machine and so should be better graphically? Or will you be one of those that point out that these games are only first gen games?

The reason the graphics only got a 7/10 is because of glitches and minimal crowd animations. But honestly, the on-field players look great.

But isn't the strength of the Vita its graphical power and its games can be compared to their PS3 counterpart? And did you even read why the graphics were given a 7?

What's Vita's closest rival? 3DS? I think we all know the 3DS lacks the graphical power of the Vita so how would that be fair? And when is 7 a bad score for graphics? A 7 is good, an 8/9 is great and a 10 is perfect.

I think its about time we stop blaming the "media" for any bad press you may find about Sony.

a handheld shouldnt be compared to home consoles. they are different machiens with different purposes.

just because the other portables arent as powerful, doenst mean that the vita should suffer for its superior hardware.

It boasts a console experience, but it isnt a console. its a portable (console).

But as you said it is a portable console because it is capable of PS3 graphics. Isn't that what the Vita's selling point is, the cross play?

And this reviewer never compared it to other portables so that point is void.

C'mon Gribble, you can't be that dense. Do we compare the Wii's graphics to the PS3/360, even though the Wii is this gen? No, because it is well known that the Wii os graphically inferior to the PS3 and 360.

Who Gribble, who are these reviewers cutting 3DS slack, because from what I remember there were a lot of 3DS doom articles not to long ago. This is why we make fun of you and this "conspiracy theory" because all you do is yell THE MEDIA, THE MEDIA!

We have already had a few articles DOOMING the WiiU because Assassine's Creed III, Batman:AC ME3 and Rayman Origins looks exactly the same than the PS3 and 360. Or did you miss these articles? I think you were too busy in all the Sony articles to notice.

I don't complain, I use logic. When PS3 and 360 first came out how many of those first games prvided utilize the full potential of the system's power? Remember Gun and King Kong for the 360 when it first released? They had a SLIGHT graphic upgrade from there 32 bit counter part. Of course some of the first games for the WiiU will be ports but just like the PS3/360 when we start seeing 1st party and more games down the line we will see the true potential of the WiiU.

I am actually getting tired of games of the same name like Madden and Resistance being compared to the console version. It's a portable system, just because the Vita is powerful does not mean that all games should be compared to consoles. It's still a PORTABLE SYSTEM. Do the compare DS games to Wii games no...because graphically they are not close.

The PSP had this problem for some reason as well same thing...why would you base an opinion on the PSP version of Assassins Creed vs. the console version. That's just stupid, IGN is the worst of the worst..They have crapped on almost every Vita game smh

I understand that it was Sony that made this moniker that you can have a 'console like' experience on the Vita but it does not mean that every game on the Vita that has a console counterpart should be compared to.

The Vita boast graphic capabilities similar to what we have on consoles but it is still considered a handheld. So review games on a Vita as a handheld & NOT a console.

Getting back to the topic at hand. Madden 13 on the Vita looks great & plays pretty well for a handheld. This game like the Fifa game earlier this year are probably the best sports games for a handheld in years.
