I never got midnight launches. If I am up at midnight outside I best be going out or doing something productive. I just wait for the morning post the next day. Games seemed to be delivered on time.

Been doing this for quite a while where I live. Order and pay online and specify which store I want to pick up from. Allows them to order exact number of limited editions from suppliers and less issues of staff selling/keeping limited stock for friends.

Just can't see them being around beyond say 2026. They stopped trade ins and the sale of used games and consoles, Ended the Game Elite program, Stopping pre orders in-store. Stores closing and opening up small sections inside sports direct. They stock more toys than games these days. Way over priced compared to others.

I think is crazy they still score exclusiveness with collectors editions and steelbook preorder bonuses over Amazon or other retailers.

It’s the only reason I still use them to be fair.

ocelot07334d ago

Other than when they slashed pre owned games to 50% to get rid of them last month. I only shopped with them once a year and for 1 reason only.

I paid £3 a month game elite. Didn't use any features. Didjy buy anything in store. At the end of the year I got that £36 back i paid over the year plus £5 birthday credit. I thought of it as a little saver for ps+ as I would then buy ps+ or credit with the game elite credit lol.

yep its the same for Nottingham game there even a mini game in house of fraser in the same shoping center and even across from each other
love to see how they deal with new console pre-orders games are going more digital as we know but we still need a console to play them on
going to be fun when trying to pre order ps5 pro or the next Nintendo console

Good riddance, haven't been in to GAME for a good 6-8 years and with good reason. I miss Gamestation, at least I felt like I was walking into a shop for gamers.

ocelot07334d ago

I hear you. Game station was so much better. Was really annoyed when game took them over.

Grainger games where very good as well but went out of business.

purple101334d ago

yep. game station was good.

in the uk I buy physical disks but delivered online from

base.com
games365.com
shopto.net
smithstoys.com

etc.

whoever does the best price,

games365 also sells vinyl records, sometimes they have good sale prices too which is a bonus.
