Sony’s video game rebound lifts profit 25%
Sony reported a 25.2% jump in profit for the October-December quarter Thursday as its PlayStation video game business stopped losing money after six straight quarters of losses.
Profit at the Japanese electronics and entertainment company climbed to $1.88 billion for the fiscal third quarter while quarterly sales gained 9.6% to $26.87 billion.
In its core electronics business, sales for the quarter rose 10.2% on healthy demand for liquid crystal display TVs, Vaio personal computers and digital cameras.
