Why the Saturn Was the Worst Console of All Time

Don Reisinger writers:

"What about the worst console of all time? Surely, we can pick from a number of systems like the 3DO, 32X, Sega CD and a host of others, but what about major consoles? Even though these were released to the masses, the 3DO was nothing more than an overpriced proof-of-concept that never had a chance and the two Sega add-ons were a bridge to the Saturn."

Pfft no way...there's been far worse consoles than the Saturn

"More than anything else, the Sega Saturn should be considered the worst major console of all time for one reason -- it was the catalyst that ultimately led to a series of events that brought one of the foremost hardware companies to its knees."

I wouldn't blame that on the Saturn necessarily...Sony and Nintendo just gained the support and Sega was never able to fend off their competition in any generation. They were on top in their generation only when their systems came out first, and that was the Genesis and Dreamcast both getting head starts and doing well when the competition didnt bring their next hardware out...not to mention Dreamcast couldn't even fight off the PS1 before the PS2 came out. But I repeat...there's been FAR worse consoles than the Saturn

Remembering 3DO, suddenly that article loses much of its credibility.

many worse systems *gizmondo* and the saturn had some truely amazing games.

If you have play Panzer Dragoon Saga, Virtua Fighter 2, Shining Force III or Nights, you don't say that Saturn is the worst console ever.

The truth is that Saturn is the great unknown, but not the worst console.

PDS is still one of my favorite RPGs of all time, it pisses me off that Sega has abandoned the series since Orta.

No way Saturn was worse than the 3DO or Jaguar. I think the Sega hardware brand squandered all of it's good will with the lame Sega CD and 32x add-ons to the Genesis(Megadrive) and the Saturn had to pay the price for it.

It was never released to the general public. So there's no way of knowing for sure.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
