There was some audio and framerate problems. Also SH2 was missing the fog. Idk if it's unplayable though cause I havnt played it. The reason it has these problems is cause Konami gave the dev team a beta code so it had bugs that were not in the final release and they didn't know how to fix it. Konami couldn't find the source code for the games.

I'm not sure about suing, but they can demand a refund, as Konami knowingly sold a broken product that they refuse to fix.

Nah, PS2 and the original Xbox have the definitive versions of SH2. PS2 has the definitive version of SH3.

they still haven't fixed the occasional freezing/crashing issues where you are forced to shutdown your ps3 (takes forever).

It is not acceptable no matter who makes the game equal support if your multiplatform. With Bethesda you can just count on being screawed over with a buggy mess that never really gets fixed. I would expect more from Konami.

I have been broke lately and out of a job for a bit. So I was unable to get this but soon I will be able to get some money. I am a big Silent Hill fan. So I guess it works in my favor. Get the game at a discounted price and have it fixed and experience it like I played it on the PS2. Still bummed out that Silent Hill 3 has new voice actors but not a deal breaker! Sometimes it is just worth waiting for a bit before getting the game!

Don't get caught on the console war. I mean the only reason I see is Playstation has a larger fan base for the franchise. So fixing the PS3 may be a priority at the moment. So let your panties dry and stop writing jibberish!

That implies that they'll get around to fixing the 360 version once their priority is out of the way. Konami have stated (as quoted in the piece) that they have no intention of fixing the 360 sku.

I feel this generations that games get released without proper testing, that then relying on patches to fix problems.
Like skyrim for example.

silent hill3 was never released on xbox so they had to start at the beginning.
PS3 was coded from a beta version of silent hill 2 and 3 and still had problems.
They should have delayed the game to fix problems at the start for both console,s

Company,s dont care and il doubt there will be a patch for downpour either for both console,s.
I honestly think the next generation of console,s might be the same.

God this generation sucks. Nothing but bad business practices, rushed titles, heavy dependence on post-release patches, over abundance of DLC, console exclusive content, the list goes on.

Ever since developers have had the ability to change the game via patches and use of internet services, we've seen a considerable lack of polish in titles upon launch. I know the development costs are higher than ever, but for companies like Konami, Bethesda etc - there's no reason they cannot afford more QA testers. I don't expect a perfect game that's completely bug free, but I DO expect to be able to play the bloody thing without sound dropping out, game crashing and so on. It's not as if they have to build the game with other configurations in mind. Not to mention, it's a fucking port of 2 games that are almost a decade old.
