Arkham city blow everything out of water when it came out.

hmm tuff choice then.. altho the batman one was better than the batman one

saladthieves4684d ago

This is kind of a tough choice.

Both games are brilliant, but I find Arkham City, after playing Arkham Asylum, to be better. It is larger, deals with more in terms of things that you can do and play with (there are lots more villains, for instance).

I preferred Arkham Asylum. That game took me by surprise and was the longer and more thought out game. Arkham City was good too, but the main story was shorter and the amount of villains they threw at you was just insane, and not in a good way. I felt like they were just trying to fit in as many as possible, and it might ruin it for a later game, I think some of those villains could be a main villain in a future title if they did it right.

agreed. i also think the compact and limited setting of asylum was better than the huge open world of city because even though the the city was good i found that apart from the main storyline, the city wasn't used as well as it could of been .... whereas in asylum, everywhere you went, you were provided with detailed and varied settings that had background to it e.g the ghost of arkham audio speechs, the sewers that croc was locked in, the atmosphere of the psych and medical ward and the ridler challenges gave you more info about the batman universe within the asylum.
Just about everywhere in arkham city felt the same, it was good to traverse in but asylum had a rich and more detailed setting with a better story

Both are awesome games but Arkham City is a little better

Sizzon4685d ago

Both are 2 of the best games of this generation.

But I'd go with Asylum, thou City is still awesome.
