'Madden NFL 13' on Wii U missing major PS3/360 features

The Wii U version of Madden NFL 13 lacks some significant features of its PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 brethren, publisher Electronic Arts confirmed in an interview with ESPN.

The Infinity Engine, which brings real-time physics to Madden for the first time this year, will be absent on the Wii U; that version of the game will use the collision and movement systems from Madden NFL 12. "We definitely wanted to get the physics into the game," explained producer Yuri Bialoskursky, but "it's just something we weren't able to achieve for this first year on the new hardware."

By far, the laziest studio EA have. Every time new hardware comes out "boo hoo, we didn't have time for x feature in our game we barely upgrade every year".

Shok4297d ago

Maybe if they'd spend more than 2 months of dev time per game they'd be able to do get all the features in lol.

DeadlyFire4296d ago

They just confirmed they slapped the WiiU version together after developing for PS3,X360. Nice of EA to warn us they ported beforehand.

Darth Stewie4297d ago

Wow this is one of the most crappy ports I have ever heard of. Using Madden 12 engine when Madden 13 was being touted for the new engine, this is what you call lazy devs.
They should not even release the game and just wait until Madden 14.

wiiu lacks the power.....LOL

The bubble count between you two should be reversed.

@PopRocks359
Yah, true. But this is N4G. Saying pro-Nintendo things here will actually get you down voted. This comment system needs a revamp.
My main problem is that EA is being lazy and they MIGHT use it as an excuse later. For example, if this half-baked port doesn't sell well they might be less inclined to support WiiU.
If you think N4G's comment system needs to change: Bubble Up

Are you for real? Are you illiterate?
They can't do it because it's new hardware for them. Not because it lacks the power.

Subzero2004297d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

lol like anyone cares about this game, and anyway u look at it it's still just the same crap they make every year that idiots cant seem to stop buying.

"Wow this is one of the most crappy ports I have ever heard of. Using Madden 12 engine"

well it is coming from the xbox/ps3 versions, so that doesn't say many good things about those systems.

A Look at All of the Sports Games Available on Vita

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "This is the sixth entry in a series of articles I’m writing that will look at all of the games available in a particular genre on the Vita. The articles will highlight all Vita-native games, as well as any backwards-compatible PSP and PS1 titles that can be downloaded in English (i.e. from the EU or NA stores), and will include some commentary on how well those games run on Vita and whether they fill any missing gaps in the library."

Top 10 Sports Games Of The Generation

In many ways, this past console generation was a brutal one for sports video games. While other genres flourished, sports gamers were subjected to an irreversible thinning of the herd, losing MLB 2K, 2K Sports football, NHL 2K, both NCAA basketball franchises, and seeing arcade sports games all but vanish. Competition, which breeds innovation, is weaker than ever. But that’s not to say some standout games didn’t arrive as well.
