Fans complained RE4 was far too action oriented and that there was no real reason to consider it part of the survival horror genre when there was far too much ammo and not enough scares. While this was all true in a way, I think most people will agree RE4 still delivered one of the best experiences in gaming to date. While the enemies might not have been as frightening when you’re packed to the teeth with ammo, RE4 still delivered a nice spooky atmosphere throughout thanks to the incredibly detailed environments and creepy soundtrack."
