"Soccer fanatics are lucky when it comes to video games because they have two dependable series to choose from. One of those two happens to be Konami‘s ever-popular Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, which began its life in Japan during the 1990s under the moniker of Winning Eleven. Since those days, it’s constantly evolved, and has offered an interesting mixture of simulation and arcade soccer to those who understand that there’s more than FIFA out there."
On this week’s CGM podcast, an expanded crew discusses the nonexistent MMO’s we’d like to see, BioWare gets a new boss, and hardware reviews of new pro gamer laptops and headsets are covered. All this, Final Fantasy XIV, and the healing of the dark crystal on this week’s CGM podcast.
DSOGaming: "And we’ve got a Steam overload today for all of you. It seems that a lot of Steam Achievements have been leaked, and among those titles we can find Deadpool, Mortal Kombat (which is rumored to be coming to our platform, yet Ed Boon has not replied yet on our comment about it), the new Strider game and… wait for it… Prey 2."
FTG Writes: It isn’t unusual for a game similar to another to come out around the same time. Be it to beat them to the punch for market share or season overlaps, it is something that we’ve become accustomed to. In the case of sports games, it is almost a necessity that they be released in the same window. However, some of the games have been trying to make a name for themselves in the shadows of major studios for some time. A week prior to the release of FIFA 13, the next title in an 11-year-old franchise hit the streets from Konami. Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 (or Winning Eleven as you might otherwise know it) enters the market at a time when the world has been foaming over EA Sports’ newest offering. Does that mean that Pro Evolution Soccer should be ignored? Or is Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 worthy of your time on the field?
