PlayStation 2: From A to Z – The Letter “B”

Drew Leachman writes: The From A to Z series lets our editors go back and take a look at games from past generations that are classics, overlooked gems, or just titles they remember fondly. The idea behind this is to pick five games from each letter of the alphabet, once a week to showcase. This delivers 26 weeks and 130 games to talk about. Hopefully it sparks some conversation, and of course plenty of memories.

Our second series will focus on Sony’s sophomore entry into the console business, the PlayStation 2.

Let’s continue with the letter “B”.

Missing from the list is Batman Returns for the Sega CD. It can be an honorable mention. the music was really good and the driving levels were pretty cool for the time.

Batman for the Genesis almost was never released outside of Japan. Man i remember those days. Nintendo got sued by Sunsoft and other devs/pubs because they wanted the right to release their wares on competing platforms.

Nintendo had a lock on the industry at the time. Glad that lawsuit went in favor of the devs/pubs as it meant more creative games were made to take advantage of different platforms.

The first game that popped into my head was NES Batman.

The NES Batman is a great game. Like a lot of NES games, it's very difficult, but it's still really fun to play, even today.
