OXM - Hand on heart: I couldn't be more stoked for the release of Fable: The Journey this October. I went into my hands-on expecting a decent, diverting Kinect experience doused in Fable's trademark charm, and came out babbling of Turner paintings, "twofold victories" and "wistful, haunting intimacy".
While few specifics are known about its gameplay, story, and release date, Playground Games' Fable reboot is nonetheless expected to arrive in 2025.
Fable 4's development seems to be well underway, and a look at the original trilogy reveals a few elements the upcoming title needs to reprise.
One of the biggest reveals at this year's Xbox Games Showcase was the latest Fable trailer. After a lengthy stint of silence, Playground Games gave us a look at bits of the title, albeit in a trailer that was mostly made up of CGI nonsense headlined by comedian Richard Ayoade, who is playing a rather frustrated giant.
Molyneux asked about what he thought about the Fable reveal.
lol screw the fable series. its dead, fable 1 was the only good one. anything else was just more of peters lies.....though if peter doesnt make it then maybe it could actually be good
It might come out something like Kingdoms of Amalor heh heh.
A new focus with the story and gameplay and is much needed. I'm so glad Peter's not doing Fable anymore. All that "Talent" was all just in his left finger.
No disrespect to Peter and his ideas in the past but if Lionhead decide to make Fable 4 more of a gimmick-free game it could potentially be brilliant. Go back to the Fable 1 roots, get rid of the idea of being king and focus on gorgeous locations and towns.
Also, an in depth combat system that uses at least 3 buttons please. The Witcher 2 has raised the bar this gen, I'd like to see Lionhead at least challenge it.
