It is understandable to not know about everything or who everyone is, but it is a tenet in the industry, and in humanity in general, to treat someone as you would expect to be treated. If you don’t know about something or someone, you research and when things go badly, you address them as best as you can. Most of us consider this to be common sense, just as we consider stepping away from the internet when you are drunk.
