'The future of gaming is away from the television'

Why?

Sono4214325d ago

Or imagine this. In the future all you need to play videogames is a pair of special glasses and a controller. Games are on something that resembles an SD card that get stuck right in the controller, or maybe you can even download them right onto the controller, sounds really cool if you ask me :D were obviously a looooong ways off but hopefully one day :D That would be the definition of portable gaming!

Somebody4325d ago

So now they have succeeded conquering the living room (with X Box and PS3...and now they want to leave it?

ApolloAdams4325d ago

I would say so to an extent but where that extent leads we may not know. Sure you will have gaming consoles, even though they are more PC/media devices now as well but mobile is thriving due to accessibilty and low cost.

Mobile gaming is alive and well and only will expand to a point where you won't be able to tell if it is a dedicated gaming console or a 10 inch tablet and I look forward to that day.

miamicanesruleall4325d ago

People may enjoy mobile gaming because it's convenient and something to do to pass the time, but how is gaming on a small screen ever going to match the experience of going home to game on your 50 inch flat screen? It's not. Two completely different experiences and there is a place for both of them. Why this idiot would say otherwise is beyond me. I enjoy getting a bunch of friends together to battle it out in competition. It's much more personal that way. It's much more fun beating the crap out of your friends in your own living room than battling with some anonymous troll online that you don't know.

I'd only enjoy it leaving the living room if the interface is like Ghost in the Shell......

EA Delists Latest FIFA Games From Prominent Digital Stores

Following the release of EA Sports FC 24, the publisher seems to have removed FIFA 14 up to 22 from major digital storefronts.

MrNinosan216d ago

And as a Journalist, you should know why.
FIFA ain't allowing the games on the storefronts without EA paying for them. Pretty obvious.

Rols216d ago

Looks like the FIFA licensing deal has expired. No mystery about it.

Loot boxes --- "surprise mechanics"
NFTs ----------- "virtual creations"

just_looken334d ago

Well its sports gamers so they will buy the nft's very fast.

BrainSyphoned334d ago

EA: We need a new way to be voted the worst company
Nike: Have you tried child slave labor? No?... well how about a Jordan NFT. We will even throw in Chinese LeBron NFTs for free!

potatoseal334d ago

Can they even read the room? The world wide gaming room filled with gamers. No one wants this. They know they will probably get away with putting NFTs in their sport games.

XiNatsuDragnel334d ago

EA and Activision are competing for worst company fr.

mariopasta334d ago (Edited 334d ago )

How could they not know this is the wrong ass move. If EA survive this which they will, they are seriously untouchable. Too many casuals play their games and dont know what happening or even give a dam

JackBNimble334d ago

How is Nike still surviving?

People talk about justice this justice that but are so self absorbed that they will continue to support these companies so they can have their neat little things.

At the end of the day , everything the plebs say is all a lie.

Good idea but I expect the NCAA and college boards to swipe away all that money for themselves.

badboyz09364d ago

This means 2 things
1.Ultimate Team is Confirmed
2.They have some competition from another Studio

anast364d ago

They need to start paying college players.

hiroyukisanada364d ago

Bro, pay as much as you need to and don't be greedy, cuz I NEED my college football game back 🤣
It was the ONLY sports game I bought annually
