That's good news, but I wonder if the shuttered studio will still get money from the pc version...

ATi_Elite4741d ago

What money? No one is interested in Prototype 2!

The first one was mediocre and this one is just a crappy console port.

I suggest they make some great mod outta Prototype 2 then maybe they will garner sales and get back into the business as an Indie dev!

Getting released from Activision is a blessing cause now they are free to create.

Mariusmssj4741d ago

I will buy Prototype 2 with pleasure!

Skate-AK4742d ago

Man just like Bizzare Creations. Their game drops then Activision dumps the studio.

Psychotica4742d ago

Hope it doesn't need a patch now that there isn't anybody to create it

dazzrazz4742d ago

100% it will, I can't think of not even one game released in last couple of years that did not needed patch after release date

Basjohn4742d ago

While you're right for the most part I think the major hope is "NEED". The real fear arn't common bugs but anything game/progression breaking and that's what we need to be worried about.

On the plus side, many games have gotten community patches over the years so if worst comes to worst we'll wait on that miracle.

Reborn4742d ago

Of course not. They put money into developing it. If they wish to have a chance of getting any of it back (we all know what Bobbys like) they'll continue with it.

A shame the studio had to close, jobs lost. However, soon all Activision will have is Blizzard, and COD studios. (if they don't already o.o)

While i appreciate the gesture.... all of these retro classics have been made available everywhere else. I am hoping to see some other Activision properties make their way out of the shackles of the 5th, 6th and 7th gen. Licensing be damned... bring back the Transformers Cybertron games.

P_Bomb31d ago

Love the Cybertron games! TF games have been shit lately. Would love to see that era revisited. I even did the multiplayer!

MrBaskerville31d ago

Is the retro classics for all consoles?

Obscure_Observer32d ago

Metaphor on Gamepass just announced! O.o

Seriously, this is the best generation of Xbox ever!!!

We can´t catch a freaking break from awesome games arriving all the time!!!

Deathdeliverer31d ago

It’s a HELL of a game. If you like JRPGs in the family of Persona, you will be in heaven… that is until you hear the various battle music…. then you’ll be somewhere BEYOND heaven!

Just finished Clair Obscur. This should be fun.

Only a big company that has interest in gaming like Microsoft or Tencent could have acquired Activision. Extremely low interest rates at that time certainly helped.

Not exactly sure that a merger with EA would’ve benefited any of their franchises or gamers. I imagine it would’ve been like the activision blizzard one were each publisher retains their own identity. So Activison-Blizzard-EA. But who knows.

fsfsxii129d ago

If it was owned by EA, COD could’ve disappeared a looong time ago. They have no clue how to manage franchises.

Gamingsince1981115d ago

It's a shame EA didn't buy them then, COD should die, it's past its prime and has been since black ops 2, I started playing it when cod 4 mw first came out and it has been downhill since.

thank goodness we dodged that landmine 😒
