Skyrim Dawnguard: DLC file size woes

Product-Reviews writes: Skyrim Dawnguard DLC and download file size concerns – We have heard from a number of our Xbox 360 readers that have tiny hard drives, or are pretty short on space right now. These users are a little concerned over the Dawnguard DLC file size, which has an install size of 581.70MB and while this is not much it does seem some gamers will have to delete a few things.

581.70MB is not bad unless you have a little Xbox 360 hard drive.

Trebius514744d ago

problem is a lot of 360s sold without any HD at all or the very minimum HD space like the cheapest version ... so i can imagine lots of people will be purchasing some extra space from Microsoft since they dont allow 3rd party HD sales. I got 500gigs for my PS3 for a bargain on newegg, i feel sorry for the 360 owners that have to get ripped off in order to increase their HD size.

ricky3604744d ago

I have deleted a couple of bits it is downloading now.

tr00p3r4744d ago

It's not hard to delete a few pointless demos to make up the space.. I'm more concerned about Bethesda selling their souls to Microsoft.

danswayuk4744d ago

If the PS3 paid for online would you expect more exclusives?

tdrules4744d ago

I'd expect them to encrypt my personal information

OccludedGamer4744d ago

Really? Well you probably wouldn't have to worry about that since all important information was encrypted and on an entirely different server!

Can't believe you trolls are still trying to use the PSN hack as a reason to pay MS for services that are free everywhere else

mewhy324744d ago (Edited 4744d ago )

If we paid for PSN (Not plus) then I'd expect this DLC to release on both Xbox Live and PSN simultaneously. I don't blame Sony for not shelling out the cash to get this dlc first on it's FREE network. That would be stupid.

Trebius514744d ago

@tdrules

Lol...grasping at straws now buddy...

It was all encrypted and on a different server like he said ... no one got near any of that personal information...its just what losers like you say to feel like they have justification and ammo to continue their pointless console "war"...

mewhy324744d ago

@Trebius51

Well I'm not one for 'console wars' but in this instance you are very wrong. Here is a quote from the letter sent to PSN subscribers... "an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID."
Here is a link to the new report it came from.. http://www.gamasutra.com/vi...
Now if name, address, email, birthdate, psn/qriocity password and login, and psn online ID aren't personal then I don't know what is????? It was definately personal and I for one never got informed until 3 days after it had happened.

One month is not much of a wait for a game like Skyrim, although I don't pay for Xbox Live gold and still get to enjoy this DLC sooner than ps3 gamers.

deep_fried_bum_cake4744d ago

"I'm more concerned about Bethesda selling their souls to Microsoft"

It's not as if this is a new thing, Microsoft has been paying Bethesda for timed exclusivity on DLC since Fallout 3 (dunno about before then).

ninjahunter4744d ago

500MB? Cmon, i downloaded more than that just to watch the Legend of korra Finale (which was fantastic BTW). Unless you have like a 5gb HDD(which is ridiculous) i would think this is far from something to cry about.

DasTier4744d ago

500mb? I think right now on my hard drive BF3 takes up about 17GB. Also who has a tiny hard drive if they want to play lots of games. Common sense is needed, Just invest in a new HD or even a memory card...

MS could compress their games on disc

raWfodog38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Skyrim is still my favorite ES game. I’m playing through it again right now since I never finished it.

jznrpg27d ago

Morrowind is by far my favorite. But I’m getting old and played Daggerfall Morrowind and Oblivion before Skyrim

ActualWhiteMan37d ago

Yeah totally. Definitely won’t be hacking it Nintendo 🤞🏻

Fallout and Skyrim show us that talented developers make great games when you leave them alone

That judicious lack of oversight permeated everything in Bethesda's RPGs, in a positive fashion.

Christopher67d ago

I much prefer a left alone Obsidian and Larian Studios. Bethesda's formula has grown old for me.

anast65d ago

Larian hit another level with DOS:2 and then took it even further with BG3. They do high quality work.

jznrpg66d ago (Edited 66d ago )

Skyrim was a letdown compared to previous games and so was Fallout 4

Kosic65d ago

I agree, I found it an interesting game. But nowhere near worth the hype (unless you include mods)

dmonee65d ago

Skyrim blew my mind when it released. That game took me to the gaming, promisedland. Going back to it when it was updated for the PS5, it felt slightly rough around the edges, but great for its time

TheColbertinator65d ago

We should leave Obsidian alone. Bethesda on the other hand should be kept under constant psychiatric observation.

anast65d ago

Skyrim feels like the game was made in a hurry with a disorganized team.

At this point, if you still don't have these games, just wtf are you even doing?
