Gaikai seeks $500+ million sale, says Fortune

Gaikai's service provides direct cloud gaming from the game publisher to the consumer. The company's cloud service streams games online in any browser, regardless of the consumer's computer processing power, by utilizing Gaikai's cloud servers. Gaikai's largest competition comes from OnLive, which offers an a la carte service with a microconsole and controller, and a larger selection of games to play. Recently, the two companies have started to compete indirectly; OnLive is more consumer-based while Gaikai is focused on 3rd party partnerships.
