Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2008 Review from IGN

Lucas Thomas writes:

"So only consider a purchase of Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2008 if you are one of two kinds of people. One, if you're a dedicated, hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh fanatic who can't get enough of digital dueling. Or two, if you're an individual who's always been interested in the design, but has never given it a shot – because the held-over tutorial still included here is still robust and fully-featured, and will help you learn the ropes. But if you're just a casual card battle player, and you perhaps own one of the past Yu-Gi-Oh! DS titles, you can pass this one by. There's not enough new and distinctly novel to earn this one that high of a recommendation for the non-hardcore. The lost potential is enough, actually, to make the game's overall score regress a bit as compared to the 2007 version. Pick up the pace and do something truly new next time, Konami. Don't make the dedicated fans buy the same game over and over again."

Diehard GameFAN: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Stardust Accelerator: World Championship 2009 Review

While its not going to turn any heads when it comes to presentation or originality, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Stardust Accelerator: World Championship 2009 is a solid game thanks to its source material With nearly three thousand cards to collect, downloadable ghosts to duel, and online opponents to conquer, this game has plenty of bang for your buck. This is the kind of game that you can keep in your DS for quite some time. If you're looking for something new, you're not going to get it, but fans of series and fans of the card game will have no reservations for picking this up.

More Yu-Gi-Oh! from Konami

Konami has revealed a fancy new Yu-Gi-Oh! card battling game for DS due out this March.

It will go hand-in-hand with the real-life 2008 World Championship, and recreate over 2,000 of the cards that line the palms of spotty teenage tacticians.

Why not release a Yu-Gi-Oh game that incorporates the PSEye?

Kururo5946d ago

because theres no pseye on the nintendo ds.

Darkiewonder5946d ago

Has anyone got their hands on the Nintendo developed Card game out recently? I heard it's good. and no. it's not Pokemon.

Azures5946d ago

over 2,000 cards huh? How about ALL the cards that are in actual card game?

These games are consistently disappointing on the DS. If only Konami had the stones to move the World Championship games to PSP or at least release a version for the system. You could get so many more cards and content on the UMD not to mention MUCH MUCH MUCH better online multiplayer support through a legitimate WLAN receiver and not just the open or WEP crap that the DS pulls.

think yugioh is a weird show but ya know maybe they should make a yugioh game for ps3 like eye of judgment

hotrider125946d ago

yeah, like volemort said why not a yu-gi-oh game on ps2 or ps3 i been waiting for a new yu-gi-oh since monster capsole game. im tired of all yu-gi-oh games on ds or game boy advance why not on ps3 with good graphics a battle against merek or zork or the evil bakura spirit. even kiba for christ sake. it should be called "duel of all duels"
