Player Attack: After a couple of days at E3, the sea of flashy lights and blaring soundtracks blends into one another, leaving the show floor as a sort of homogenised mess of games, titles, developers and consoles. It takes a very special sort of game to stand out from that sort of swamp - and an even more special one to do it from a mobile platform.
We'd like to introduce you to The Act, an intriguing game for iOS in the works at React Entertainment.
NowGamer - If we rated games on charm alone then The Act would effortlessly walk away with a Five Star Award, no problem. React Entertainment's game is quite simply gorgeous, with the same sort of stunning animation and beautifully drawn visuals that you once found in classic Laserdisc games like Dragon's Lair and Space Ace (both of which are also available on iOS).
Destructoid: "After playing The Act, I think I now know what it feels like to be truly out of touch with your emotions and everyone surrounding you. It’s a frustrating and confusing state to exist within.
Here’s the kicker: I don’t think this is the experience that the developers were trying to make at all."
When one stops to think about it, The Act, a game which had recently been released for the iOS, is a rarity in itself, given the fact that it took nine years to make.
I got to tinker with this game, too. I love the animation style.
