‘Frozen Synapse: Red’ Review – Simply Red | IGM

It’s safe to say that Frozen Synapse was one of the best indie releases of last year. You won’t find much argument coming from any veteran strategy gamer, that’s for sure. It was a minimalist, but incredibly tightly designed simultaneous-turn-based game of tactics, pitting two minds directly against each other, and victory going almost without fail to the more considered battle-plan. Being such a focused and minimalist piece of design, the game doesn’t seem to lend itself too well to additional content. Does Red, the new expansion pack for Frozen Synapse add depth, or dilute the formula? Let’s take a look.
