Looks like it only works with EU PSN Accounts. I got the same error when trying to get a code using a US account.

this only works if you have been selected for the Beta anyway but for some reason you just didn't get an email.

I was going to write a complaint that it does not work, because I got only a dark screen after "Connecting to PSN. Please Wait" screen. However, I managed to run the game with the 4th or 5th try. So if you can't get the game to work just try few times.
