Some of the best graphics on PC at the moment are...

PC gaming is capable of creating stunning looking visuals, with new GPU's being launched every week from graphics partners like EVGA and MSI of each generation of hardware from the power mongers that are Nvidia and AMD, but while good graphics don't make a great game, they sure can be nice to look at.

Here is a run down of what we think are some of the finest looking games on PC, if your looking for eye candy or something to tax your new graphics card, then look no further.

I've always wanted to play that but my PC can't run it.

pandehz4357d ago

same issue, I think my i7 is the bottleneck here

MRMagoo1234356d ago

i7 are shit so thats a given

BlmThug4357d ago

Witcher two is certainly a attractive game, much better than Skyrim IMO

truepcgaming4357d ago

In my opinion, Metro 2033 looks better than any of the games listed. Also, Just Cause 2.

guitarse4357d ago

I haven't played Metro yet, perhaps why its not on our list, might give it a nosy though :)

Is it a good game, or just a good looking one?

stevenhiggster4357d ago

It's got a good story and excellent atmosphere, but the gameplay is too weak to be enjoyable imho.

bumnut4357d ago (Edited 4357d ago )

What about witcher 2? It looks amazing.

Ducky4357d ago (Edited 4357d ago )

It's a pretty atmospheric game.
There are a few polishing issue, the most noticeable one being that bullets seem to lack a punch (i.e. animation isn't up to par with visuals).

It's still a pretty enjoyable game and I found the ending to be interesting.

truepcgaming4357d ago

It is well worth your time and money. Of course, you will need a nice rig to run at max.

pandehz4357d ago

yep Metro 2033 looks better than most in that list.

Mariusmssj4357d ago

How could they choose Skyrim over Witcher 2??? this makes no sense

guitarse4357d ago

It was not a conclusive list, just a list of good looking games, why is why they aren't numbered or rated out of 10 etc, we even said we would add in good suggestions :)

stevenhiggster4357d ago

Witcher 2 isn't that good looking. It has excellent lighting and great use of the full RGB range but the character models are pretty poor and the environments are very static. Imho. Still a good looking game sure but not worthy of being on a list of the best looking games.

h311rais3r4357d ago

Someone's pc is substandard -.-

Dovahkiin4357d ago

Pretty poor? Bullshit, the game looks amazing.

pandehz4357d ago

character models are pretty poor?

Yup ur eyeballs have been mixed with the other set

Cant believe u said poor models, Iorveth, Dandelion, Geralt and all the rest of the main cast and side cast look bloody fantastic. They have distinct features and make them very very memorable. I cant even remember half the designs of most games but not Witcher 2

aliengmr4356d ago (Edited 4356d ago )

Yea, this is totally wrong. Opinions can vary, sure, but there is no denying The Witcher 2 is, at the very least, in the top 5 best looking games on PC currently.

stevenhiggster4356d ago (Edited 4356d ago )

Thanks h311 but no, my PC is pretty fuckin awesome actually. Tbh I was just fairly underwhelmed by the Witcher 2, perhaps because of people going on about how amazing the graphics were when yeah they're good, but they're not imho as amazing as people made them out to be. I was expecting to be blown away, and I just wasn't.

So yeah, we're all entitled to our own opinions and that is mine, cheers.

Tyre4357d ago

Not quite as good as the level of graphics the luminous Engine has shown us, is it?

aliengmr4356d ago

Showing off an engine and actually applying that to a game that is released to millions (PC and Console) are 2 different things.

That said, I thought the list applied to games currently released.

Microsoft's quest for short-term $$$ is doing long-term damage to Windows, Surface, Xbox, and beyond

"The plan to move Xbox games to other platforms is codenamed "Latitude" internally, and I know there's debate and unease at Microsoft about whether or not this is a good idea. More upcoming Microsoft-owned games slated for PlayStation are already being developed. At least for now, they're potentially obvious games you'd most likely expect. And yes, while it's true Microsoft is a prolific publisher on PlayStation already, it has typically revolved around specific franchises like Minecraft. From what I've heard, Microsoft is pushing for no "red line" for what games could come to PlayStation, and it all revolves around Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood's mandate to increase every department's margins. "

Yeah, they are going to kill Xbox hardware.

Xeofate1h ago

"Yeah, they are going to kill Xbox hardware."

It's for the best.

Quit stringing along xbox fans and screwing over PlayStation owners.

gold_drake2h ago

i think it will kill off the xbox brand. windows will be fine.

but there is and would be a chance that xbox might be killed off in the future. if they fail to make the money they put in. imo.

S2Killinit2m ago

They wont kill it, but they will go fully PC while keeping xbox as a brand, and go multiplatform for the most part. They will also work tirelessly to diminish console gaming’s importance.

Forza and Starfield next?

ocelot0733m ago

I'm hoping for age of empires

Skuletor32m ago

Starfield would be no surprise and there's the rumor that it will come to Playstation after the Shattered Space DLC, Forza (along with Halo and Gears of War) I find less likely but I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually end up on PlayStation too, especially if Xbox give up on hardware and go the Sega route.

shinoff218331m ago

Not to worried about forza. I'd rather see others like what inxile and obsidian are working on. Starfield sounds like it needs more time in the oven so let it cook first imo. If starfield and it's a small if does release on ps it'll be in the fall around the time for dlc or right at the dlc and come packaged with it.

-Foxtrot1h ago

In the words of Phil Spencer when he was talking about Nintendo last year

“It's just taking a long time for Microsoft to see that their future exists off of their own hardware"

S2Killinit0m ago

Yup. MS are a cancer to console gaming.

Obscurity54m ago

More fake doom and gloom about a 3 trillion dollar company

shinoff218330m ago

It's probably true though. What's fake about Ms releasing games on ps. It's not like it didn't just happen. 2 of the 4 they released were in Playstations top seller list.

Obscurity26m ago

Xbox has been leaving gaming and leaving hardware for 20 years according to Sony fanboys 😂😂

Hofstaderman21m ago(Edited 20m ago)

Bet you Blade is coming to the PS5. Disney probably insisted on it thats why they being silent on whether its exclusive. I'm more excited for the Gears and Master Chief collections though.

Obscurity20m ago(Edited 19m ago)

I hope blade does come to PlayStation. Gears and halo should too.

Let PS fans fund Xbox and gamepass. Xbox is dominating the PlayStation store 👏

Good for Ps fans too - PS don’t dev games anymore

0hMyGandhi27m ago

ah yes, the classic "too big to fail" mentality. That served us well in the past.
This article is not all doom and gloom.
I highly suggest you read it before posting a comment here based on the headline alone.

solideagle26m ago(Edited 25m ago)

are you Obscure user's child? or an alt account created today?

it's not doom and gloom for MS, it's for Xbox...Ms will be fine on it's own. when we will look back at the history of Xbox (hardware) from higher level, it will be marked as failure majority of the time.

Obscurity22m ago(Edited 21m ago)

It failed so much they got 69bn dollars to go shopping.

Damn, I wish I could fail so much someone would give me 69bn dollars! 😂😂

Skuletor25m ago

A trillion dollar company with a gaming division currently mired with controversy, layoffs, studio closures, an uncertain future, mismanagement and admittance they can't handle all the studios they've acquired among other things. I think the main focus of this news on this site called News 4 Gamers, would be focusing on that gaming division which IS looking kinda gloomy lately.

Obscurity22m ago

Sony are doing all of the above too, despite “record sales”

Obscurity16m ago(Edited 14m ago)

Layoffs and studio closures are whataboutism? Okay 😂😂

Imagine selling that many consoles and having to do layoffs at insomniac, your most successful studio 💀💀

Unhealthy business. I’m concerned for PlayStations future.

Skuletor10m ago

More whaboutism. On the topic of Sony, since you brought them up, remind me of when they spent billions on a publisher they later admitted they weren't equipped to manage, despite Phil Spencer saying acquisitions are good for the industry and resulted in mass layoffs and studio closures, even for a studio with one of their highest rated exclusives in years, which according to Microsoft themselves, met their expectations.

Obscurity5m ago

Making that much money and closing studios and doing layoffs.

PlayStation is doomed 💀

Skuletor3m ago

Sure but what makes you think I care if they are?

Obscurity21m ago

Indeed! Facts are obscure!

Unknown_Gamer579417m ago

MS as a company will be fine. Xbox isn’t so secure though, as its status is dependent on how profitable its parent company thinks it is. Current trends suggest that MS sees more profit in making Xbox third party, and I’ve heard the box itself is actually losing them money.

If these things are true, the future of Xbox as a console manufacturer is certainly being called into question. Perhaps being a third party publisher instead would be a better strategy for them.

Obscurity16m ago

Sony and MS are both going third party.

Pc and Steam has killed consoles

Skuletor5m ago(Edited 4m ago)

Millions of people are going to choose consoles over a PC due to their simplicity, I don't see consoles disappearing anytime soon.
