Why Xbox SmartGlass could help Nintendo more than it does Microsoft

GamesRadar writes: "Today, Microsoft revealed SmartGlass, a technology that can turn almost any touchscreen device into an extension of the Xbox 360. For entertainment, this means being able to start watching a television show or movie on the go and continue on your TV - and for games, it means using the second screen as a touch-based interface for creating your own plays in Madden or being given access to additional information in Halo.

It's likely the biggest thing Microsoft revealed at the show, and might be one of the more interesting revelations out of E3, but while some are pointing at it as a "Wii U" killer, it might actually be more beneficial to Nintendo than it could ever be to Microsoft."

he... kinda have a point? i think?

i mean, now the 3 consoles will have a second screen flooding you with helpful info, so companies will not see it as big of a gamble as if it were only for WiiU...

at the same time, it can dilute down the WiiU/PS3 experience
where the screen and the buttons are in the same place, the xbox version will have you switching between controller/tablet, so you can't put gameplay on there, and this can kinda fuck everything...

wait... so now PS3 fans will blame 360 because they make the graphics go down, and nintendo fans will blame 360 for diluting down the possibilities of the second screen?

Microsoft made a mee too move? Gasp no way. There entire conference was filled with copy cat content.

A web browser for the console that released in 2005...wow nice one MS.

3rd party games...wow nice MS.

Another Halo, another Gears, another Forza...while good...cant we get something new?

Xbox Music...wow nice one MS

Smartglass...a Wii U copy cat move.

MS is entirely unoriginal. I am not sure who is bought in on the Kinect but that too is crap.

That might be true but everything they do is top-notch and high quality. (This is coming from a PS3 fanboy)

Polish a turd as much as you want it's still a turd.

EI is top notch? and the PS3 has music unlimited
and yes the PS3 browser blows ^_^

Except for their hardware quality.

I think project glass is just dumb. While something like the Wii U has the touch screen as it's central controller using the controller and touchscreen in one and the PS3 with Vita is basically the same idea using a tablet requires a hefty price tag for those without one plus having to use two devices for control. A tablet AND the controller. It won't work too well unless it's being used for stupid things.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos5h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis21h ago

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.
