EuroGamer - Veteran video game voice actor Nolan North has won a role in big screen blockbuster Star Trek 2 off the back of his work on the Uncharted series.

North told Eurogamer that director J. J. Abrams asked him to appear in the forthcoming movie sequel as he was a big fan of PlayStation 3 hero Nathan Drake.

Wonder if he's gonna be a key character or just an extra like Slater was.

It'd be neat to see him play a villain. He did a great job voicing Penguin. Wonder how well he acts on camera...

Nolan's tweet about the part
https://twitter.com/#!/nola...

"Don't get too "buzzed"! Very small role! Still, a blast to work with JJ Abrams and the cast!"

Nolan North wins part in Star Trek 2!!

ehhh, how did he WIN!! a part after J.J. ABRAHAM "asked" him to appear in the forthcoming movie sequel. surely dont sound like he won anything to me. word from word 'Abraham: We're doing Start Trek, you wanna do it?' And Mr.NORTH said: I'd love to.

whoever wrote this article should re-write it.

"NOLAN NORTH WAS ASKED TO APPEAR" in J.J. ABRAHAM forthcoming movie sequal.
the article never mention Mr.NORTH was competing with anyone for the role to win it.

by the way if no one know how NOLAN NORTH look in real life how would we know it is him in that brief small part?? I personally have never seen him im sure quite few have not either.

Why did you reply to me with this instead of just posting it? It's not my article.

He did an amazing job with the Penguin. You couldn't even tell it was him unless you knew before hand. Curious what he'll have for lines and if they'll just have him do his normal voice or actually try, like with the Penguin.

MidnytRain4381d ago

I didn't know that was him until now, lol. After hearing his voice again in this trailer, I can only tell it's North when he says, "Welcome to Hell!"

Im more a Star Wars fan than a trekie... but if Nolan is in it... Im seeing it.

If I met Nolan North in real life, I would hug him

@LordSloth

Nolan actually performs really well in real life, he was on CSI miami http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Hopefully he has a decent part. Hell, even the Cole "Train" got a decent one in Transformers 3, albeit, small...

FarCryLover1824382d ago

The Cole Train was in Transformers 3?!?! That's hilarious.

DarkBlood4382d ago

that the black guy that said "i didnt sign up for this" or whatever the line is just prior to entering the warzone? in the movie i mean

WrAiTh Sp3cTr34381d ago (Edited 4381d ago )

Yeah, but that wasn't his only line.

Pintheshadows4382d ago (Edited 4382d ago )

I don't like Star Trek or Uncharted so this is terrible news.

I'm a filthy liar. I'm guessing he'll be playing a crewman, possibly a redshirt.

@F7U12 :D I only put that to see how many disagrees i'd get from people who only read the first line.

F7U124382d ago (Edited 4382d ago )

Says he's not a Trekkie

Data! :D

*Ship's Computer* - Incoming photon torpedoes.

*Ensign Drake* - Oh crap!

This just makes me want to watch this movie even more now.

What Inspired: The Uncharted Series

FreeckyCake writes: After the success of the Jak and Daxter series on the PlayStation 2, Naughty Dog decided it was time for the series to take a rest. However, that wasn't the end for Naughty Dog's career. It was merely the beginning of something big. Something that would surpass their past projects

I don't really play racing games, but do people really cary about story modes in racing games? I thought need for speed in the past did a good job of it, somewhat cheesy, minimalistic story but it did the job imo. Just so there was some context in the game.

CrimsonWing691293d ago

like you said, the cheesy Need for Speed stuff kind of made racing a bit more worth doing over and over again because of the story, but I don't think anyone actively goes out of their way to buy a racing game for the story.
