After playing the demo of this game I knew I had to have it on the first day. While waiting for the release I kept noticing more and more negative reviews and I couldnt understand why. Finally upon release I went through and completed the game.
Without spoiling the excitement of the game, I must say (and I cannot stress this enough), this game is underrated. The nectar and overall FPS mechanics of this game are excellent. If you ever played resistance this game will feel very familiar. The story is isn't mindblowing, but it will captivate you to an extent. The biggest downfall of this game, without question, is its repetitive nature. After playing an hour or so I noticed that the gameplay itself feels all too familiar, as it does nothing to innovate as far as shooters go. With a metacritical score of less than 7, you cannot expect much... but trust me when I say there is much more under the surface of this shooter than what is featured in reviews.
The strong points of this game are definitely the story, gameplay mechanics, and nectar implementation. Also, the development team. Expect Free Radical to take the best elements involved and mold them into something even more amazing.
The weak points of this game are the sub-par graphics and the repetitiveness. Graphics, to me, rarely play a factor in judging a game, but I know some readers will consider this factor (don't expect a great looking video game).
Overall, I feel like this game is a very generic shooter (On the surface), with massive potential, an excellent story, solid mechanics, and a developement team that can turn average into extraordinary.. (Timesplitters 1, Timesplitters 2). Definitely worth the purchase, can't wait for Haze 2.
Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "When shopping for new video games you can often trust the name publisher or developer on the box to be an indication of the quality of the game. Names like Nintendo, Square Enix, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Capcom, Xbox Game Studios and Sega are world famous because they helped shape the industry by releasing some of the most defining video games of all time. Though sometimes even these great gaming houses stumble and put out a stinker."
Splatterhouse remake . Loved the og’s at the arcade growing up . Hell the best thing about the remake was the og,s were included . And left alive by Square . That game had so much potential , but the gameplay was worse horrendous .
I'm pretty much certain that any Sonic game that comes out will be terrible, I've not enjoyed one since the original side-scrolling days of the MegaDrive.
Guns, drugs, and unnecessary war. Fun for the whole family.
I find it funny that you say it's repetitive and then give the gameplay a 10.
Hahahaha, here is the real rate on Haze:
average review 5.7 out of 10

The majority has spoken. This game is a flop. Leave it to the sony fanboys to try their hardest to save this game.
