The graphics are great but the penalties in the harder levels are terrible. In the S class other cars hit your car and you get the penalty! Sometimes you hit a wall or touch the grass and again you are slowed up by a penalty. If this is not a turn on/off option in the full version I will spend my money on another racing game. There are times when you can hit the wall or cut a corner and nothing happens. The next lap you do the same and recieve a penalty for barrier or shorcut. It sometimes seems like the game has a mind of its own.
Another thing that is sad is the fact that some of the cars that you win cannot be used without de-tuning them. How do you race a car that is the same as the one you are using except you have to remove 30hp just to be able to race in that class?
I am a big Gran Turismo series fan and own all previous versions but I would hope by now that damage to cars would be included, but again it is not. How do you hit a wall at 160 mph without producing a scratch on the fender? I guess that doesn't matter because you will get a 4.0 second barrier penalty now if you do! I understand the idea is to make a realistic game but at what cost? I have played many excellent racing games on various platforms and most have some visible damage or handling problems should you hit a concrete barrier at 150 mph+.
Overall I would say buy the game but be prepared to spend a LOT of time on the same track trying to get past a track racing against cars that are faster than you. It seems like the game-makers spent a lot of time on looks and lost some of the fun of racing.
iLLGaming contributor Anikait Makkar writes about the gaming industry's current business practices, and how it affects the consumer.
free to play no matter how good the game is if it is a free to play i dont play.
i want to pay full price for a full balanced experience unlocks shouldn't be earned by money but by the hard work you put in the game.
my free to play nightmares are borderlands, diablo, titanfall,w arhawk 2,halo and star wars battlefront.
Worst business practices
Paying to play online (PS+, XBL)
Season passes
disc locked content
Paid DLC (DLC should be free unless it is significant enough to be an expansion)
Paying to use your own internet, DLC (all of it, I'd rather have expansion packs with a ton of content), DLC coming out a week after the game's release, incomplete games with missing sections sold as DLC, pre order bonuses, short and pointless campaigns, not having server lists (like COD which insert you into random games and maps), expensive and permanent digital prices, yearly sequels with minor changes at full price, lack of challenging AI, lack of originality, and most of Micro$ofts "business practices." This may sound like a hateful statement, but I blame M$ for bringing most of these things to consoles. I remember when there free and inexpensive map packs on Live in the early years of 2006 and 2007, then they started pinching pennies.
Who else here has been gaming long enough to remember when paying $50 got you the WHOLE game? No left-out content sold as DLC, disc-locked content, season passes, outfits, avatars, etc.
Excuse me, I need to go have a cry at what has happened to my beloved hobby.

Good review. You touched on some points i missed in my review. The penalty system is bullshit and the overly perfect A.I. is lame. There are improvements to be made, let us hope with an extra yr they can make them
Good to see some one shedding light on the truth for others to make an informed purchase.
These are the problems i have experienced playing the game on my friends ps3 and why i did not end up purchasing it in a ps3 bundle.
SONARUS didn't your review give this game a 9.0 even though the ai is poor, the online is broken along with the penalty system. Not to mention no customisation of your car inside or out.
For me the game could be great but due to its crippling faults ends up not being very fun to play cp to other racing games.
Guess you will be giving 20/10 for the full version SONARUS if they fix the problems. LAME BRO.
This game is tons of fun IMO I would give it a 9/10. I think your being a little harsh with your score of 7.8/10, but it is your opinion. Reading you review you never really touched on the other aspect only the tough penalty and no damage. Now I do agree the penalty system is harsh but that really is only in the harder classes and I think it really adds a challenge. Now don't get me wrong I was close to tossing my controller a few times when I would barely touch the grass and it would give me a penalty, but it definitely gives you more of a high and a sense of accomplishment if you can win the race when its that difficult. The lack of damage (although promised for a later update) should be there from the beginning. But to sum it up I respect your opinion and heres to hopping the final version has these problems fixed.
