"The name's Bond...James Bond." It's been fourteen years since the Nintendo 64 smash hit, GoldenEye 007, made its way to our family rooms, college dorms, and late-night parties and what a decade (and a few years) it's been. In 2010, Activision released a reimagining of the classic and iconic video game and a year later, ported that vision to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded was claimed to be, the classic shooter [is] back with all-new features. With more legendary characters, upgraded multiplayer capabilities, numerous controller options and stunning graphics, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is here to quench your thirst for James Bond action. Take the action online and relive your favorite multiplayer shooter with up to 16 players. Take advantage of everything you remember about the classic multiplayer maps, and get to know four all-new layouts."
In layman's terms, what GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is in fact, just Call of Duty meets British espionage. If it wasn't for James Bond himself, there would hardly be anything to prove this to be a 007 instalment. Gamers were led to believe that Reloaded was to be an HD remake of the classic '97 title, but what Activision did was take the brilliant concept of GoldenEye, tear it apart piece by piece, throw in elements of their Call of Duty franchise, and stitch everything back together as one Frankenstein monster-esque creation.
Don't let that image steer you away, however. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is still a captivating, fun, and action-packed thrill ride that the casual gamer would be a fool to pass up. With moments of reminiscence to that of the classic life-changing video game, it still took a dip into the James Bond theme pool. With reimagined locations, scenarios, missions (which still shed similarities to the originals) and character designs, the game has earned its right on the 007 shelf as a company's fair go at modernizing a classic.
You would be foolish to judge the game without playing it for yourself, especially considering the biased and often times inaccurate reviews from angry gamers and Call of Duty fanboys. The graphics are nothing shy of excellent, especially from Activision. If you're expecting graphics similar to Uncharted or Heavy Rain, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. However, take it with a grain of salt and it's guaranteed you will appreciate the beauty of the visuals if you avoid comparing it to more advanced gaming experiences.
The gameplay is very reminiscent of the Call of Duty games, mainly because of the modernized methods of first-person shooters; the ability to aim down the sights of your guns, customize your loadout in multiplayer, the points and ranking system, and even the style of the single player campaign very much give weight to the fact that Activision just doesn't wish to stray from the style of Call of Duty when making games of the same genre. It doesn't say much positive things for the company, considering that James Bond has never been a Call of Duty style gaming experience, and thus shouldn't be treated as so, even in this day and age. However, this does not take away from the overall enjoyment that GoldenEye Reloaded will bring.
I very much appreciate the game for what it is, and as a casual gamer, I find it a fantastic experience. As a James Bond fan, I'm mildly disappointed that Activision couldn't appoint it the proper respect it deserves and stray from the Call of Duty style. I say give the game a go for yourself before judging it. Whether you're a casual gamer or a James Bond fan, GoldenEye Reloaded is an experience not to be missed.
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded proves that is nothing is broken, don't try to fix it. A disappointing remake that failed to live up to the original.
While Goldeneye reloaded didn't have the same magic as the original n64 version, I enjoyed it. I liked how the entire game could be played with motion controls if you had the Wii or the PS3 version.
"There is nothing the video game industry loves more than a good trend. “Hey, that game with the bald, gruff space marine sold really well, we need that in our game!” or, “people are all talking about that cover system, can you make it more like that?” It’s an unfortunate reality of any big entertainment industry, if something sells or seems popular, every game is clamoring to make sure they have it too. -- PlayStation Enthusiast
Some of my favorite games are held up so high to me are because of Split Screen alone, it is more fun than online with a friend imo
Local co-op wins every time. weather its split screen or not. either playing something like fifa or rocket league with friends or recently i got my girlfriend into diablo 3, we started it together its was fantastic and couldn't have imagined playing it any other way.

She seems like a cool chick to hang out with and maybe get benefits on the side. But I prolly would keep it on the DL from my buddies.
Edit: Gentlemen never tell.
Really guys, really?
Anyway, while I'd argue that there are some FPS games that deserve a bit more recognition here, she's pretty spot-on with the overall feel of FPSs.
lol my comment wasn't immature, it was fact. Although i probably shouldn't have shared that here, that was unkind. But fellatio skills are not something to be ashamed of, not in the slightest!
Based on your review, it doesn't sound like the game deserves an 8.5 and it really didn't tell me much about it other than it was similar to COD.
Based on the demo, I would have given this game a WAY lower score. I agree with Hufandpuf, though. Your review doesn't make it seem like this game deserves an 8.5.
its a fun game but i think it kind of sucks.im not saying i dont like it
its a fun game but i think it kind of sucks.there is just something about it that rubs me the wrong way
