Changes Coming to N4G

Changes Coming to N4G

Hello N4Gers,

Christopher here with an update on what will be happening with N4G as of Wednesday, 29th of April 2026. I don’t want to make you read an entire post before we get to the changes, so here we go:

The decision has been made to move N4G to a new system as well as change N4G from a site that is community driven in its content to one that is curated by a content team. Furthermore, there will be no comment section or user profiles with the upcoming change. The site will be an aggregated news feed.

Why not just fix N4G?

The site has seen its fair share of ongoing and escalating issues over the last five years. Through it all, none of the previous or current owners have been able to find a way to keep the site running as it is without encountering issues and ever-increasing costs. The decision was made to finally move the site to a new platform that won’t experience the same issues and ongoing costs.

Why are community features being removed?

The short of it is so that there is a focus on content curation instead of moderation. I’ve already breached the discussion of bringing it back in the future, at least with having a comments section, but I don’t want to make empty promises to you. For now, the site will forgo any form of moderation to focus on the content.

What about my site content?

We still want your content, and I want to do the best we can at promoting your content. I can’t say that things will work the same as they have regarding guidelines, but the goal is to continue to operate N4G as a place to get the latest video game news.

Once the change happens, sites can submit content to [email protected] for us to review and publish to N4G. You can also contact me directly at [email protected] for questions or to work with you however I can.

Closing Words

This change is massive. It’s sudden. No matter how you look at this, it’s a big step into a new future for N4G.

One thing is certain, without the N4G community being here day in and day out over the last twenty years this site would never have been possible. Some of you have been here for a decade and some so long that you have a space in your username. To say ‘Thank you’ seems small for the value this community has brought to this site, let alone from the contributors and moderators who kept the site going, but I say it nonetheless.

Thank you.
