Will Bayonetta Origins Come to Other Platforms in the Future?

No, it does not appear that Bayonetta Origins will release on other platforms in the future. However, there is definitely room for a change in direction. Given the history of Bayonetta and similar titles like Resident Evil, it’s possible that we may see the franchise branch out once again.

Nintendo credited both Sega and Platinum Games in the Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon trailer. There is currently a lot of speculation as to who actually owns the Bayonetta franchise and how its future will unfold across Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.

At this point in time, Nintendo is the primary publisher of Bayonetta titles, including the spinoff, Bayonetta Origins. If the franchise’s previous Switch-exclusive installment, Bayonetta 3, is any indication of what the future holds, it’s not likely that we’ll see Bayonetta Origins and future Bayonetta titles return to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.

However, while the details regarding Sega’s current partnership with Nintendo remain unclear, Sega did publish the original Bayonetta, and Platinum Games continues to serve as the developer for the Bayonetta franchise. This lends us some hope that Bayonetta Origins and future titles will extend to other platforms somewhere down the line.

We have not yet received any news or confirmation that Bayonetta Origins will release on any platforms apart from the Nintendo Switch, but we can always hope that future Bayonetta installments will eventually return to the platforms on which the original title was available.
