Despite being a small, pixelated game, Vampire Survivors offers a plethora of characters to choose from. However, players will have to unlock the majority of the roster through gameplay. This guide will show players how to unlock characters in the game.
How To Unlock Characters in Vampire Survivors
Characters can be unlocked in Vampire Survivors by simply playing the game and completing specific objectives. Once an objective is completed, the character’s silhouette will appear in the character selection menu where it can be purchased for gold.
Some of these objectives may include upgrading a weapon to a certain level, defeating a total number of enemies, or finding a specific item within a map. Players should also know that the gold cost for each character will be different, and will increase by 10% for each character purchased.
There are also secret characters to earn, and can be unlocked through more obtuse methods. These methods can be harder or more time-consuming to do, but most of the secret characters can also be unlocked by typing a specific word or phrase in the Secrets menu within the main menu.
How Many Characters Are in Vampire Survivors?
There are a total of 57 playable characters in Vampire Survivors at the time of this writing. This includes 25 non-secret characters in the base game, 16 secret characters, and 16 characters from the various DLC packs. The Legacy of the Moonspell DLC contains eight characters, and the Tides of the Foscari DLC also contains eight characters.
