It often happens that the players play a game without fully using all the resources. Nowadays, it’s usual that you have lots of information already displayed and you don’t really need to search further to be able to play. Some Valorant players explained how utilizing the Minimap to its full potential might make you a much better player.
Players Share When You Should Use the Minimap
One player, Synnorate was advised by their friend to use the Minimap more. This player took to Reddit to get some tips from the community on how to ameliorate their experience in the game. The OP stated: “My friend did a VOD review for me and he said I literally don’t have any map awareness. I should watch the Minimap more often and try to remember the location where the enemies are”.
They explained: “But looking at the Minimap while clearing the angles is quite uncomfortable for me. I feel like I will die if I don’t pay attention to my crosshair, but I may lose some important info and get one tapped by an enemy coming out from nowhere”.
As you know, the Valorant community can often be helpful and fair, so it isn’t surprising that they have gathered to offer some very good advice on how to use the Minimap. One player, theSkareqro, noted: “You don’t need to look where you’re going when you’ve already secured that area. Only stop looking when you’re crossing sightlines or unsecured areas. Even sometimes when I enter sites that are covered in smoke, I look at the Minimap”.
Another player, Otherwise_Procedure3, offered an in-depth analysis. They said: “You don’t watch the Minimap while clearing corners. When you’re holding an angle, peeking, expecting an enemy on your screen anytime soon, look at your crosshair. Whenever you’re swinging off of teammates, running with a knife out, sitting in a smoke, etc. You should be looking at your Minimap to get info from what your teammates see”.
Everyone Should Playe Valorant However They Wish
Other players had more relaxed views on how often you should check the Minimap. Some reported going in blindly and still surviving without a scratch. Basically, everyone needs to find out what suits them, not just follow the rules. What works for one won’t necessarily work for the other.
A Redditor, electricalweigh, explained: “You really don’t have to check the Minimap (that much) in Valorant. The general rule of thumb is if you can’t shoot, you look at your map. Whether that’s because you’re second in line, in smoke, have your knife out, etc”.
Our unpopular opinion is: find what works for you. We all have different approaches to every aspect of life, similarly, there isn’t a single correct way to play the game. Even if there is, you don’t have to follow every rule, imagine how boring that would be. Thankfully, the Valorant community gets that, and they are here to offer you some tips on whichever route you decide to take. Enjoy the game and see you out there.
