Lucky Valorant Players Share Impressions of Console Limited Beta

Valorant Agents Sova and Sage

After the new patch and the addition of Abyss, the time has come for the Console Limited beta to start. On June 8, it was announced that players who signed up could test out the Beta. Fans rushed to apply and a week later the lucky applicants started playing. As you might have expected, the players gave mixed reviews, so read on to see the first impressions.

The Console Limited Beta is Now Live

The official page of Valorant on X announced the start of the beta on June 15. It stated: “VALORANT beta on console is rolling live NOW. Share your beta access code with up to 5 other friends to join and play together”.

Those 5 codes for players’ friends, unfortunately, created a sort of black market. Many players who weren’t invited to join the beta tried to buy access codes. The developers and the dedicated fans pleaded with the players not to sell the codes.

Aside from minor inconveniences such as that, players seem to enjoy the beta. Jhalli922 raved: “I got into the beta for Xbox, and I enjoy playing! This is a game I can learn and grow as a player. It’s different and not my usual FPS genre. Based on how I play in other games I do like the Sentinel role. Maybe Controller when I understand the game better”.

Not_Sevagoth shared their enjoyable experience. They reported: “I know I’ll sound goofy when I say this. Yeah, I’ve had some weird matches but most of my matches are extremely fair if not leaning in my favor. Am I experiencing an extremely good bout of SBMM or am I just getting extremely lucky with who I’m matching with? Am I just shockingly good or am I getting lucky with the bots I’m matching with?”

The Beta Strengthens the Valorant Community

While some players found the beta easy, others had very different experiences. Pascalini shared: “I’m used to ability games, but I must admit, starting this game new on console beta feels overwhelming, to say the least. In most matches I don’t have a clue what’s going on with abilities, like today I got caught by that ability that places you in a one-on-one randomly with someone, that felt crazy”.

It’s always nice to see the Valorant community come together. Now, they suggested how to approach the beta painlessly. PhantomGhostSpectre explained: “There is definitely a learning curve, especially if you are new to tactical shooters as a whole which seems relatively likely if you are a console player. There are a lot of guides that I watched to get the general idea and I am still getting smacked”.

It’s always great to see players helping each other, especially in a game like Valorant. The Console Limited beta for Valorant is very exciting and fast-paced. You might get an opportunity to try it out because it’ll be here for a while. The developers haven’t disclosed the exact timeline, but rumor has it, the beta will run for at least a month, possibly even longer. So, if you have any friends who were invited to test it out, why not try it for yourself?
