Every player has been there at least once, you find a game you love and play it every day. After a while, some features start to annoy you, AFK players become your worst enemies, and everything is contributing to your stress levels instead of relaxing you. It’s okay, we’ve all experienced that feeling in our stomachs, it’s unpleasant, but you can come back from it. Valorant community declares that there is no shame in burnout and you shouldn’t feel obligated to push through it.
Burnout Might Be the Reason Why You Don’t Enjoy Valorant Anymore
Recently, there have been lots of reports of players not enjoying the game anymore. They are stating that playing Valorant feels like a chore and that making progress is almost impossible. Many players explained how it felt like the game was working against them constantly, and that even something they were once good at felt completely off.
Spending hours and hours playing the game and still feeling like you’re right where you started is such an exhausting feat. Agitated-Court-878 shared: “Won 2 yesterday and lost 3 today and I’m right where I started with 4 hours of my life wasted. It’s incredible how common 13-6 or worse slam dunks are. Riot has a terrible matchmaking system and I really hate the 30-40-30 rule”.
Another player, veryexpensivepasta, admitted: “It’s not fun. It feels really stagnant and there’s always someone throwing or smurfing it’s just a huge time waste. Your gains are usually close to your losses if not losing more than you gain. They do that so it’s an endless cycle of you playing trying to climb and then falling down. Literally Sisyphus from Greek mythology. When you realize it you get tired of it”.
Valorant Community Offers Support and Advice
Thankfully, these players, and many others, have the Valorant community on their side to help them through burnout. If the game you enjoyed suddenly becomes tiresome, the best thing you can do is to take a break. It will make all the difference, trust us.
One helpful Redditor, buddychronic421, offered some comforting words. They noted: “You need a break buddy, your mindset is not there. Same as the people who queue up and end up not trying, it’s a mix of addiction and burnout. You have an expectation of other players, s**t isn’t going right and people tilt instantly. This game is mostly mental, we all know we shouldn’t dry peak onto a site round after round”.
Another community member, parz2v, offered some support. This player said: “Let it go, or at least stop queuing ranked if it pains you that much. Play a different game, a new one, for a while. AAA or indie doesn’t matter just find something to do for a week or so. When you’re done with it you’ll be back with a fresh mind and repeat the cycle again”.
Sure, you can always try and push through it, but what for? Valorant will be there after a week or two and you’ll get to see it in a brand new light. Sometimes we can all get hyperfocused on details so we miss out on the big picture. Any game you play is meant to be enjoyed, not suffered through. So, switch to another game for a while, or take up a hobby. Burnout doesn’t have to ruin Valorant for you. We promise you that this community will welcome you back with open arms.
