Python is a popular SMG in The Last Descendant, especially with players who main Toxic Arche characters. Getting Ultimate weapons is harder than it seems, and may require multiple runs to get every weapon part and blueprint that you need. Different from Thunder Cage, an Ultimate weapon you can easily get the parts for, Python requires a bit more effort. So, read on to see how to get Python in The First Descendant, and what is the best build for it, once you get it.
How to Get Python
Being an Ultimate weapon, to get Python you first have to gather up all the weapon parts, and then research it. That will require a bit of legwork, but thankfully, we have compiled a short list of all the items needed and their locations. To research Python, you will need:
- Python Polymer Syncytium Blueprint
- Hardener (97)
- Nanopolymers (91)
- Crystal Biogel (11)
- Python Polymer Syncytium*
- 50.000 Gold
- Python Synthetic Fiber Blueprint
- Silicon (108)
- Flectorite (73)
- Positive Ion Particle (10)
- Python Synthetic Fiber*
- 50.000 Gold
- Python Nano Tube Blueprint
- Monad Shard (62)
- Ceramic Composite (102)
- Conductive Metallic Foil (8)
- Python Nano Tube*
- 50.000 Gold
- Python Blueprint*
As you can see, each weapon part requires some research materials, which you get by defeating mobs and opening Munitions crates in different areas of the planet, as well as special parts (marked with *) that have a chance to drop only in certain missions or from certain Amorphous Materials. Below is a table showing how to get each of those special parts.
Keen-eyed readers probably noticed that you need, for example, a Nano Tube to research Nano Tube Blueprint, while logic dictates that it should be the other way around. This is the case with some Ultimate Weapons in TFD, the devs probably switched it unintentionally and it will most likely be fixed in upcoming patches.

Once you have all the required materials, head over to Magister Anais in Albion and select the Research Request dialogue option to open the Research screen. Select Weapon, and look for Python. You need to be at least Mastery Rank 10 to have the option to research it. You have to pay 100.000 Gold to start the research, and after four hours, your new Python Submachine Gun will be waiting for you.
Best Build for Python in The First Descendant – Best Weapon Modules
Now that you have your shiny new Python, what Modules are the best for it? Naturally, buffing up ATK and Critical stats is always great, and since this weapon reduces Toxic Resistance and Non-Attribute Resistance (thanks to its Python Instinct ability), some Toxic damage is a nice addition. So, we will focus on Modules that increase ATK, firearm Critical Hit Rate, firearm Critical Hit Damage, buffs when hitting the enemy’s Weak Point, and bonus Toxic damage.
The best Modules for Python in The First Descendant are:
Weapon Module | Socket | Description |
Action and Reaction | Malachite | Increases both the weapon’s ATK and Recoil |
Better Concentration | Almandine | Increases weapon’s Critical Hit Damage |
Better Insight | Almandine | Increases weapon’s Critical Hit Rate |
Bullet Rain | Xantic | Increases weapon’s Fire Rate and ATK |
Insight Focus | Almandine | Increases weapon’s Critical Hit Rate and Critical Hit Damage |
Rifling Reinforcement | Malachite | Increases weapon’s ATK |
Sharpshooter | Malachite | Increases weapon’s ATK and Critical Hit Rate |
Sweeping Squad | Malachite | When defeating an enemy, increase Firearm ATK for 5s at a 33% chance (up to 3 Stacks) |
Toxic Enhancement | Rutile | Adds Toxic ATK |
Weak Point Insight | Malachite | Increases weapon’s Weak Point Damage and Critical Hit Rate |
Weak Point Sight | Malachite | Increases weapon’s Weak Point Damage |
Being the only Toxic Arche Descendant, Freyna is the obvious best choice to wield this weapon. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t use it with other characters, and help out Freynas in your squad.
