Season 1: Invasion went live on August 29, and with it came a bunch of new content and improvements (and that is only the beginning). We got a new Descendant, new mission types, some buffs, and who can forget a whole new Battle Pass? Players had mixed feelings towards the Battle Pass in the Pre-season so everyone is hoping that the first “big” BP will be a good one. Let’s see what the community has to say about it.
Season 1: Invasion Battle Pass Offers Helmetless Head Skins, an Ultimate Weapon, and More
The first Season is in full swing and the players had a whole weekend to check out everything Season 1: Invasion has to offer. When it comes to the Battle Pass content, you get helmetless head Skins for Bunny, Valby, and Sharen (but no Body Skins), the new Excava Ultimate Weapon, 300 Caliber in total, some cool Emotes, Weapon skins, and other cosmetics. Additionally, you can also get some “consumables”, like the Precision Phase Exchangers, Precise Ion Accelerators, Fine Adjustment Control Axes, and the infamous Paints.
The Battle Supply Shop, on the other hand, offers some Skins (both Body and Head), for Valby and Bunny, along with other cosmetics.
Players Butt Heads Over the Battle Pass
Fans were not so happy with the Pre-Season Battle Pass, so the expectations for the new one were a bit higher. Some players are content with the new one, though there is always room for improvement. A player, named vjs_gdd2 on X, said: “I think it’s getting better, a few cosmetics i find really nice this time. Think they just need to add maybe 1 fully built catalyst/energy reactor at level 96 and it would be perfect.” and militaire94 added: “Adding helmetless skins is nice, but more people would be compelled to get it if it had unique full descendant skins. A single evolution skin to work towards would be a lot more fitting as a final reward than a weapon.”
On the other hand, some players are disappointed with the BP, stating that it is worse than the Pre-Season one. The main issues seem to be the lack of notable Skins, the Caliber rewards still being to small (“all other games that features a battle pass gives free cosmetics and mostly return the coins needed to buy the next battle pass but not TFD.” said jr420kindica), and that we get Weapon Skins for weapons people rarely use. One more thing rubs the players the wrong way and that is the fact that some skins were shown on the Battle Pass trailer, but have ended up in the shop, as Event Skins.
Still, a couple of items proved very popular. You can’t go around Ablion without seeing someone with a cat backpack or people doing the new Squad Star emote. When you think about it, The First Descendant has a pretty cheap Battle Pass (500 Caliber, around $5). Expecting to get a bunch of incredibly cool stuff for that price may be a bit too much. And you get 300 Caliber back, so the real investment comes down to $2. It is not that big of a deal.
