The First Descendant Best Sharen Build

The First Descendant Sharen crouching

If you are all about single-target damage, Sharen is your go-to choice. She is a Descendant who rewards patient players and encourages you to set up combos to deal as much damage as possible. You meet Sharen only after a couple of beginner missions in the main story. It means you have to grind for a bit before you can unlock her, as she clearly is not one of the starter characters. Now, the best build for Sharen in The First Descendant focuses on single-target damage, so let’s see what items you should be looking for.

Sharen Skills

  • Assassinator (Passive) – Increases Damage when attacking enemies that aren’t attacking Sharen. When in Ambush state, defeating an enemy by using a skill resets the Active Camouflage cooldown.
  • Cutoff Beam – Attacks enemy with electric blade to deal damage and inflict them with Electrocute effect.
  • Active Camouflage – Hides from enemies. When attacking or using skills, Active Camouflage state ends immediately, regardless of time remaining. When Active Camouflage state ends, Sharen enters Ambush mode, increasing damage of the next attack.
  • Impact Rounds – Launches built-in explosives forward from the arm to stun enemies.
  • Flash Shortsword – Targets enemies within aiming range, and throws multiple knives to attack them. Knives explode to inflict enemies with damage and Electrocute effect.

Best Sharen Build

Sharen is the “assassin” of the game, mainly using her weapons to deal damage and her Skills to set it all up for maximum effect. She uses a couple of stealth Skills (Assasinator Passive and Active Camouflage) to get into position, Impact Rounds to Stun enemies, Cutoff Beam for some additional single-target damage, and Flash Shortsword for some AoE. But, most of the damage comes from her weapons, so that should be your primary focus. Keep reading to see the best items for Sharen for each equipment category: Weapon (and Weapon Modules), Descendant Modules, Reactor, and External Components.

Best Weapon for Sharen in The First Descendant

Since Sharen has ways to set up some serious damage buffs, you’ll need a weapon that does a lot of damage with each shot. That would be a good Sniper Rifle, and one of the best is the Afterglow Sword. This Sniper works best when hitting enemy Weak Points, especially on Commanders and Colossi.

For clearing the “chaff”, the Thunder Cage Submachine Gun is a good option, due to “exploding” eliminated enemies. Another great choice is the Albion Cavalry Gun Machine Gun due to the sheer weight of fire that you need in order to expose Colossus’ Weak Points, and especially great when combined with Impact Rounds Skill. With those Weak Points exposed, you are now free to utilize Sharen’s full potential.

Weapon Modules

Your main weapon will be the Afterglow Sword, so Weapon Modules that increase its ATK, improve Critical Hits and Weak Point damage should be your priority. There is also one Mod, Strengthen First Shot, that will improve this weapon immensely, and you would do well to find it as soon as possible. So, the best Weapon Modules for Sharen are:

Weapon ModuleEffect
Strenghten First ShotImproves the first shot after reload
Rifling ReinforcementImproves weapon’s ATK
SharpshooterImproves weapon’s ATK and Critical Hit Rate
MarksmanImproves weapon’s ATK and Critical Hit Rate
Weak Point SightImproves weapon’s Weak Point damage

Descendant Modules

Sharen uses her Skills for utility, so Cooldown reduction Mods are great here, as well as those that improve her HP and DEF, in case things go south (as they usually do). There is also a Transcendant Module, Overcharged Edge, that radically changes her Active Camouflage Skill.

The best Descendant Modules for Viessa are:

Overcharged EdgeActive Camouflage uses Shields instead of MP,
boosts damage based on Shields consumed.
Nimble FingersReduces Skill Cooldown
HP ConcentrationIncreases Max HP and Skill Critical Hit Rate
Increased HPIncreases Max HP
Electric SpecialistIncreases Electric Skill Power
Electric MasterIncreases Electric Skill Power

Reactor

While not relying on Skill Power most of the time, a good Reactor is needed for the best Sharen build. Her Skills are all Electric, so the first thing you should do is look for a Reactor with the “Tingling” title. Tingling Reactors boost Electric Skills, so are an obvious choice for any Sharen build.

As for Subtypes, her Skills are either Fusion (Cutoff Beam and Flash Shortsword) or Dimension (Active Camouflage and Impact Rounds). Since those Dimenion Skills are not based on Skill Power that much, you should get a Reactor that boosts your Fusion Skills, ie, a Mixture Reactor.

In summary, the best Reactor for Sharen is the Tingling Mixture Reactor.

External Components

As for every character, External Components are there to give you minor defensive boosts. If you manage to find the Overcharged Edge Module, improving your Shields with External Components should be a priority here.

So, the best External Components for Sharen are those that improve Max Shields, Max HP, and DEF.

With this build, you will turn into an invisible sniper and a bane of Commanders and Colossus alike. Pair her up with Ajax to draw the enemy’s attention and Enzo to keep her ammo full and you’ll be eliminating key targets left and right.
