Every player knows just how exciting it feels when you discover, something that isn’t a part of their favorite game… yet. We’ve all stumbled upon some surprising leaks over the years, but it never ceases to amaze us how that still causes an adrenaline rush. Well, The Finals players certainly know the feeling as a possible new leak has started circling the social media.
A Possible Leak Gets The Finals Players Hopes Up
One Redditor, TickleTipson_11, shared the news with the community. They simply stated: “Discord image leak! – Upcoming Sonar Mine”. Alongside the short message, this player posted a supposedly leaked image of a mine on that signature red background. The only text on the image is: “Item Unlocked” and “Sonar Mine”.
Now, we’ve searched through Discord so you don’t have to. Unfortunately, the post was probably deleted, if it existed at all. If this is real, there are so many questions that the players need an answer to. WangFire013 mused: “Assuming this is real, I gotta ask how this is different from a Motion Sensor. The Grenade you can throw..but a Motion Sensor is basically a Sonar Mine already”.
One player, derI067, offered a possible solution. They noted: “Motion Sensor works all the time, a Mine needs to be triggered. Maybe they’ll increase the range of the Sonar to justify using it, IDK”. This could certainly be possible, but we’ll have to wait and see what the devs say.
Another player, Greeenrose, proposed: “It probably works like the glitch mine. That means it will tether to nearby enemies and as long as they stay within range their silhouettes will be highlighted (same as the motion sensor)”.
Which Build Might Get the Rumored Mines?
Now, another aspect of this possible leak that divides The Finals community is which Builds will get to use these Sonar Mines. Will the Lights, the Mediums, or the Heavies get the new Mines? As the Heavies have Motion Sensors, and the Lights have Sonar Grenades, the most probable pick is the Mediums.
Other players gave out different propositions. One of them, EjbrohamLincoln, gave another valid explanation. They said: “Nice, this will replace the Sonar Grenade for Light (I guess). This way it also can be destroyed”.
Obviously, as with any other leaks, approach this with caution. If the developers aren’t the source of an announcement always take it with a grain of salt. It’s easy to get excited over new items, but players can get really upset and take it out on the community. As you probably know, The Finals community doesn’t tolerate toxic behavior. So, be patient, don’t get your hopes up until you get the official announcement and enjoy the game.
