The Finals Community Stands by a Player in Distress

Sometimes things happen completely out of our control. You can only stand by helplessly and watch as the situation unfolds. Fortunately, in a situation like that, your community will often support you. Recently, one player was unjustifiably banned from the game and The Finals Community was there to offer help.

How to Get Banned From The Finals?

A Redditor, DUI_Getter, shared the troubling news they received. They said: “This is my 2nd time being suspended and this one is permanent. The first suspension was because they “detected programs on my PC that are bypassing the anti-cheat software,” which is impossible because I’m an Xbox player. This ban is for severely violating fair play rules. Just genuinely confused because nobody will actually tell me what I did, just vagueness”. The OP gave offered more context: “I don’t play ranked so it can’t be for quitting and I also don’t use game chat. They’re making it sound like I committed a felony and won’t go into any more detail.”
This player managed to get in touch with the Player Support. Unfortunately, the Support only confirmed that the ban was permanent. The reasons for the ban included negative behavior and a severe violation of Fair Play rules. Several other players reported going through almost exactly the same trouble.
The community gathered in an attempt to solve this mystery. One fan, kittyspotatoes, suggested: “I’ve read in some other forums going AFK [away from keyboard] or if it happens ppl think you’re AFKing (like those guys who just enter a match to unlock rank mode faster) you can get mass-reported too”.

SevvySavvy shared their experience: “Yeah I got banned on an account that I spent around $60 on. The only reason I can think of is that I use an Xbox Elite controller and mapped one of the paddles to the V key on my PC for voice chat. So I’m guessing the devs think I’m running an emulator to get aim assist on the mouse. Devs wouldn’t say that that’s what it was but banned me nonetheless and wouldn’t elaborate so that’s my best guess”

The Community Shocked by Fan’s Misfortune

Several players reported they were banned after someone else gained access to their accounts. Some said that they managed to reverse the ban by persuading the Player Support on Discord. A player, Pole-Axe, suggested it was a prank gone wrong. They asked: “Is there any chance your friends reported you for a joke and it really worked”. The OP, probably shocked, answered: “That’s something my friends would do so maybe LMFAO”.
HamOnRye__ might be the only person ever to read the Terms of Service. They reminded: “Too bad we all agreed to the terms of service that says things like “We may withhold, suspend, modify, or terminate your access to the services for any or no reason at any time without notice unless otherwise required by applicable law.” Also an entire section in the terms about how we’re not allowed to sue until we go through every possible prior legal step; arbitration, litigation, etc”.
It seems the OP can’t do much to reverse the ban. Let’s hope that some of the devs or Community Managers will come upon their plea and have some mercy to reevaluate the OP’s status. Whatever the future holds for this player, they can count on The Finals community to stand by their side.
