By now you are probably aware that the Helldivers 2 players managed to secure a brand new Stratagem with a recent Major Order victory. It’s been several days and the Helldivers 2 players still rave about the Commando every chance they get. What makes this Stratagem so special?
What’s so Great About the Commando?
One Player, yellatrob, explained their possession with the newest Stratagem. They raved: “Is it the most meta and effective choice? I’d argue no. I’d say it’s probably 8/10 against bots and 6/10 against bugs. But one of my favorite things to do is head to extraction a few minutes before the squad. Bring both EATS and Commandos and litter the landscape with shoulder mounts of doom”.
They continued: “Bile titan? Rockets. Charger? Rockets. Bile spewer? Rockets. Lonely hunter? All four rockets just in case his parents are watching. I haven’t had this much fun with a support weapon since the launch of the Quasar. I now bring both EATs and Commando to every defense/rocket asset mission. By wave 4 on Helldive there are enough on the ground to wipe out the next 5 Factory Striders”.
This_0ne_Person gave some unorthodox advice. They stated: “F**k it, bring all 3. RR [GR-8 Recoilless Riffle] for the initial shot, then swap to one of many EATs or commandos you should be dropping constantly. When the fight is over, pick the RR back up”.
Some Helldivers 2 Players Share Concerns About the New Stratagem
Most of the Helldivers 2 players are extremely satisfied with the Commando, but some pointed out a few issues. One Redditor, levthelurker, said: “The issue I’m finding with calling in so many Commandos: the empty ones still exist and can be picked up, which has caused a few incidents of running around kiting a charger while trying to find the only full one he knocked off the stand”.
Another player, wylie102, warned the community of the possible consequences. They noted: “I too love the commander/EAT combo. But just so you know even just hanging out at the extract without calling in the Pelican greatly increases the number of patrol spawns, so you might be turning up the heat on yourself or your buddies still out there doing missions”.
Honestly, these issues seem like something most players could live with, and some might even enjoy the added challenge. We are loving the Commando so far, and along with other players, we sincerely hope it won’t be nerfed. If you haven’t tried it yet, the Automatons are waiting for you in the Andromeda sector.
