Is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Online Only?

Can you play the newest Rocksteady game offline, or is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League online only? Read on and find out.

Online-only games, also known as always-online, are a type of game where you have to be constantly connected to the internet to play them. That makes sense for MMO games, but recently more and more games have been released as “always online”. Is that the case with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? Read on and find out.

Is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Online Only?

The answer is: yes, you need a constant internet connection to play Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. That is mostly due to the option to play it in multiplayer. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League can be played with up to four players at the same time. That number corresponds to the number of characters in the game. This is also confirmed on their website: “An internet connection will be required to play Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League or via online co-op at launch.”

This decision can rub some fans the wrong way. Having to be constantly online to play a predominantly single-player game can be irritating to some players, especially those who struggle with a stable internet connection. Will that be changed in the future?

Will There Be an Offline Mode?

We have some good news, Rocksteady has confirmed that an offline mode is on the way. They stated: “…an offline story mode will be added post-launch in 2024 giving players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection. More details will be provided at a later date.” This is further confirmed on Suicide Squad’s official Discord server. As soon as any new info on this subject appears, we will update this article.
