Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now live worldwide, and players are jumping into their intergalactic journey as the series protagonist, Cal Kestis. In the five-year time lapse following the events of Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal has since become a Jedi Knight, capable of taking on an array of all-new enemies and missions.
From very early on in Jedi: Survivor, however, you’ll notice that some locations are blocked by green barriers that prevent Cal from entering. Fortunately, there is a way to pass through once you’ve reached a certain plot point in the game.
With that being said, how exactly do you unlock these green barriers? While there isn’t a way to unlock them, per se, you will develop an ability to phase through them. Here’s how.

How Do You Unlock Green Barriers in Jedi: Survivor?
Technically, there isn’t a way to unlock green barriers in Jedi: Survivor. However, you will unlock an ability that allows you to pass through them after reaching a certain point in the main story.
Specifically, you’ll need to make it to Jedha Pilgrim’s Sanctuary. On your mission here, you will learn two crucial abilities to aid you in Jedi Survivor. These include:
- Air Dash
- Merrin’s Charm
The Air Dash ability is essentially what it sounds like; while mid-air, you’ll quickly dash to cover more ground than you would with a basic jump. This ability will come in handy both in and out of combat, allowing you to dodge enemies with ease and reach high ledges.

The second ability you’ll learn is Merrin’s Charm, given to you by Merrin as you work as a pair to escape the sanctuary. It’s activated with the dash/dodge command, and it grants you the ability to phase through the green barriers that once prevented you from reaching certain locations.
Merrin’s Charm is doubly helpful, as it can be used in tandem with Dash and Air Dash. What’s more, these movement abilities will be refreshed each time Merrin’s Charm is used to pass through a green barrier.
Together, these abilities will help you obtain any upgrades or treasure blocked by the pesky barriers. Often, you’ll find Force Tears or Essence rewards, but you may also stumble upon Legendary Enemies or Beasts waiting on the other side. Because of this, it’s best to practice some caution when passing through.
Be sure to revisit previously inaccessible areas with the use of Cal’s newfound abilities to obtain any missed upgrades, collectibles, or enemies.
