The 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4 revisits the same story, location, and characters featured in the game’s original 2005 release. While we’re expecting to see necessary amendments made to modernize the game in terms of graphics and realism, CAPCOM has largely maintained the original game’s integrity in the remake. However, the title’s story actually begins six years following these events, meaning Leon is about 27.
Based on the stills, gameplay footage, and Chainsaw Demo we’ve now received, we can assume that this hasn’t changed in Resident Evil 4 Remake. In fact, Leon’s 2023 character design is essentially identical to the 2005 original, a detail that is greatly appreciated by franchise fans.

Who is Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil 4?
In the 2023 Resident Evil 4 remake, Leon S. Kennedy is voiced by Nick Apostolides, who has reprised the role of Leon after voicing the character in the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2.
While we’re not yet certain whether any major changes will be made to the game’s storyline, it is assumed that the Resident Evil 4 remake and its characters will maintain the integrity of those featured in the 2005 original.
According to the game’s official website, Leon has matured significantly since the disastrous events in Raccoon City six years ago. Having accomplished a great deal in that time, Leon is recruited by the President of the United States to rescue his daughter, Ashley Graham. Based on the original game and the remake’s Chainsaw Demo, this mission takes a gruesome turn.
For now, it seems Leon is the same character known by franchise fans. With the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake coming up later this week, more will be revealed.
